Yes, It's An Axis

But Where Are The Allies?

The thin, mustachioed Jew-hating fanatic and the burly buffoon - haven't we seen this movie before? Well, their axis has come out in the open:

Venezuela's Hugo Chavez and Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Saturday they would help finance investment projects in other countries seeking to thwart U.S. domination.

The two countries — whose fiery anti-American leaders' moves to extend their influence have alarmed Washington — had previously revealed plans for a joint $2 billion US fund to finance investments in Venezuela and Iran.

But the leaders said Saturday the money would also be used for projects in friendly countries throughout the developing world.

"It will permit us to underpin investments … above all in those countries whose governments are making efforts to liberate themselves from the [U.S.] imperialist yoke," Chavez said.

"This fund, my brother," the Venezuelan president said, referring affectionately to Ahmadinejad, "will become a mechanism for liberation."

"Death to U.S. imperialism!" he said.

Ahmadinejad, who is starting a tour of left-leaning countries in the region, called it a "very important" decision that would help promote "joint co-operation in third countries," especially in Latin America and Africa.

At least our enemies don't hide their enmity. The question is, what are we prepared to do about them?

Let's see. Two countries notorious for neglecting the oil extraction that represents the mainspring of their economy are going to be investing in "projects" throughout the "developing world". I.e., places where investors get robbed blind because their in-country partner turns out to be the brother-in-law of the Finance Minister and de facto immune to prosecution. I think this project is self-limiting.

$2 billion is a significant chunk of change even if not enough to purchase most of our largest businesses. IF an axis of evil was intelligent about it and IF they used that money to purchase the right small companies, they could wreak some havoc in the US. Not that this is what I expect to happen…

What I expect is that they’ll apply the tried and true principals of socialism and build that $2billion into a huge pile of failure.

Socialism doesn't work. It looks nice on paper, but it's been tried and it's failed miserably every time (usually accompanied by widespread death and suffering).

Sane politicians all over the world are moving way too slow on this situation! The United Nations alone doesn't even come close to performing all of its world duties to the best of abilities, and then, the United States keeps having to eventually resolve all of the worlds major problems. Afterwards, the U.S. gets attacked again and again as being the "world's policeman". The United Nations never ending incompetence is to blame for almost all of the world's continuing problems and not President George W. Bush!

just north of Phoenix that will help poor people. I just need $2 million. How do I contact Hugo?

I SEEK A PARTNER IN ASSIST ME TO BRING THESE MONEYS ABROAD...

Think they'll be interested?

That's as ugly sounding axis of tyrants as I've ever heard. As I wrote here, Ahmadinejad's visit with Ortega is a great reminder of another Kerry/Democratic foreign policy blunder.

As I said in Blackhedd's post, I'm sure they got the idea from the latest James Bond movie.

They will short the stocks of western capitalist companies and launch terrorist attacks against those companies' interests.
