Meet the Press (NBC): Tim Russert chats with General Jim Jones (retired) and former DC police chief Chuck Ramsey, both of the Congressionally-cued Iraqi Security Forces Independent Assessment Commission on their little report, due in October, on the readiness of the indigenous Iraqi security forces. Then he hobnobs with Joe Biden about Joe Biden.

CORRECTION:

The Report of the Independent Commission on the Security Forces of Iraq was released on Thursday, September 6, 2007.

Here's the link to the Senate Armed Services Committee (pdf).

FOX News Sunday (FNS): Host Chris Wallace talks to Dianne Feinstein and Lindsey Graham about Iraq, then to the President's National Security Advisor Fran Townsend about the new vid allegedly from a youthful and regenerated "Osama bin Laden" (deceased).

Face the Nation (CBS): Host Bob Schieffer talks to Ted Kennedy and Brent Skowcroft about "Iraq, Gonzales, and Politics."

This Week (ABC): Host George Stephanopoulos will discuss General David Petraeus's report to Congress with John McCain, John Kerry, and Alan Alda.

Late Edition (CNN): Host Wolf Blitzer chats with retired Army General George Joulwan, former Clinton (Bill) NATO boss; Iraqi National Security Adviser Mowaffak al-Rubaie; Senators Arlen Specter and Babs Boxer; and his usual cast of thousands.
-----

If Schieffer wants to talk about Alberto Gonzales with Kennedy and Skowcroft and Wallace talks to Fran Townsend, is anyone else coming to the conclusion that Fran will be the next AG nominee? Sure, Ted will blow another gasket, but at least it is not as bad as those #&%* windmills.

Why does anyone have John Kerry on any show to discuss anything? The man has neither a following nor anything interesting to say. McCain and Joe Biden get TV Time for their Presidential campaigns, and they've found Brent Skowcroft.

We'll see how this all goes.

Playing an Army doctor on TV makes you some kind of military expert? Or is he there because he's an anti-war activist? Cindy Sheehan is no longer the media darling, so they went to Hawkeye Pierce.

But he did spend many years in a war zone. And he was a Captain. That should count for something.

And by the way, is it just me or was Loretta Swit not even mildly attractive on her best day. I never really got that.

We would also like to know your advice for somebody like my daughter, who's going to graduate in two years, advice that you would give a young person.

SEC. RUMSFELD: Advice for a young person. Study history.

Kellerman played Hot Lips in the movie. There was a passing resemblance between the two.

Actually, your comment was a tad incorect. It should have read:

Alan Alda????????? WTF?????

and the correction has been made.

Thank you.

Either nomination would cause the dems on the judiciary committee to blow a gasket.

Especially, Ted Olson.

His factual, well-reasoned argument before the Supreme Court in Bush v. Gore averted a "real" constitutional crisis, as opposed to those perceived by Ted Kennedy and the ACLU, IMHO. For that, the left will never forgive him.

It's my understanding that Olson is the leading candidate.

At this point in time, given the seriousness of the threat posed by Islamic Fascism, the Intelligence Community can ill-afford to lose the services of Fran Townsend, and neither can the president.
