The Surge Is Working

From The Horse's Mouth

The Democrats have fallen into disarray, unable to accomplish anything regarding Iraq other than the so-called bipartisan House resolution dissing the surge and thereby those charged with carrying out the revised strategy.

While the Democrat's endlessly fight among themselves about whether it will poll better to micro-manage the war using Pelosi-Murtha "slow bleed," or to rewrite history by repealing amending the 2002 "Joint Resolution to Authorize the Use of United States Armed Forces Against Iraq," some have noticed that the revised strategy - the surge - is working.

Now you can hear it straight from the horses mouth. The following video presents the perspective of the Crazyhorse Troop of the 4th Squadron, 9th Cavalry:

Evil prevails only when good men do nothing.

but it is in Washington that worries me

"I wish to have no connection with any ship that does not sail fast; for I intend to go in harm's way."
John Paul Jones (letter to M. Le Ray de Chaumont,16 Nov.1778)

As I wrote here, the next time I hear a Democrat say that we need to change course, I'll point them to this information.

The surge will work because it is a change in philosophy more than it is an increase in troops (Last I looked there weren't any new troops just changes in deployment schedules). The change ends the commuter phase of the war. Before now the war was mainly a war of the MSRs as we battled to get to and from the Iraqi people. We tactically "isolated" ourselves in the large base camps and did not live "in sector." We did the best we could and had some successes but It is hard to bring security to a population this way and the only allowance to mobilizing the people is that they will continue to wait and see who wins as they live in a constant state of intimidation. The surge will work because it focuses on the people versus clearing the lines of communication. As people have slowly learned and the Army has come to realize...without security you have nothing but more targets of destabilization and reaction instead of the initiative.

The military can win this thing but I have the same concern as Greiner posted above.

Good? Bad? I'm the one with the gun... Army of Darkness
