Round One To The Governor

It was thought that Louisiana's political culture, with its lack of ethics, honesty and transparency was beyond redemption, but Governor Bobby Jindal has forced the Louisiana political establishment to accept a tough and comprehensive set of reforms in the ethics department. The story is here.
This is a huge win for Governor Jindal and should augment his political power as he seeks to make other reforms in the state. One win tends to build on another in politics and the Governor has laid the foundation for future policy and political successes during his term.
To be sure, all of this will be good for Bobby Jindal as he pursues his political career. But even better is the fact that all of this will be good for Louisiana. The state needed a miracle to get itself out of its morass. It may have found that miracle in its new Governor.

Not that it really matters, as I agree with what you said... but Im just curious what youre basing your 'majority democrat state' comment on. LA is typically red in every election and actually aside from New Orleans, I have found that most people are conservative rather than 'progressive' or liberal.
Regardless, Jindal is a fantastic person. We voted for him the last time he ran for Governor when we still lived there.
The guy is suited for greatness, and is the ideal conservative voice as far as Im concerned.
There's more to life than Presidential elections. I suggest you do your homework on the state's political history.

I believe that the Democrats in the state outnumber Republicans by almost 2 to 1. The difference is your average LA Democrat would be considered a Republican in most states.
Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler!

What will be even better yet is that it is being done in a majority democrat state. A fact that shows conservative republican principles and ideas trump democrat logic. Good for conservatives and Gov. Jindal. If he pulls this off without scandal himself, I see the next President of the United States running Louisiana. Sweet.
