Call For Reid To Resign Reverberates
Reid Losing His Lost War

The call for Senate Majority Leader Reid to resign has been picked up in Congress.
Presidential candidate Congressman Duncan Hunter says Reid should step down over the Democrat's "war is lost" remarks:
In my opinion Sen. Reid, having made that statement, which can only have a demoralizing effect on our troops and an effect of encouragement of the adversary, I think it would be appropriate for Sen. Reid to resign his position as the leader of the United States Senate.
When Oklahoma Senator James Inhofe was on "Bill Bennett's Morning in America" radio program Wednesday morning, he was asked if Reid should resign because of his assertion that the Iraq war in "lost." Inhofe replied that Reid should be recalled:
I think it's more serious than that. I think there should be a recall . . . for saying something as un-American as that.
If only Reid's sudden determination to give up the fight in Iraq was a position of principle. Read on ...
Unfortunately, Reid seems guided only by the desire to gain a petty electoral advantage in the 2008 election. The Washington Post quoted Reid saying:
We're going to pick up Senate seats as a result of this war. Senator Schumer has shown me numbers that are compelling and astounding.Reid was referring to Charles E. Schumer of New York, the Senate Democrats' campaign chief. "You look at the polling numbers of Republican senators, and the war in Iraq is a lead weight attached to their ankles. They know that," Schumer said.
It is beyond shameful for the leader of the Senate Democrats to put partisan political advantage above the interests of the country. Reid should resign, step down or be recalled.

in a Volkswagen Bug while honking his horn shouting "kill muslims", yes.
If the unpleasant happens and he survives then he can resign and spend a few months cleaning military latrines, one square of toilet paper to a bowl.

That's the upshot of my post about Reid. He needs to get a life. So does John Murtha.
They should all resign their leadership positions if they agree with what Reid said. If they are not in leadership positions, they should resign their seats. It is now to late to get out of Iraq, Rumsfeld blew this war, and now it is to late to get out. The job has to be finished and the country needs to be stable before the troops can really leave there, it is sad to say, but it is the truth. If they leave now, there will be more chaos.
He MUST resign...what he said was beyond reprehensible. If I was in charge of things I would force Dingy Harry to resign and then put someone in the Majority Leadership Post like Ben Nelson. I swear he is the last true conservative Democrat in the Senate. All the others are liberals (and I don't mean in the classical liberal sense).

the part of the post that calls for Ben Nelson to be made Majority Leader. He voted yea on the timetable resolution. I cannot support him for that because of that vote.

It must be really tough to be a Democrat today. The leadership of your party is full of liars, false allies, quitters, losers, (I could go on, but you already know the extent of their failures). It must be tough to have reason to disagree with the Republicans but have no one to turn to but this pack of wild dogs.
Sorry 'bout that.
I meant what I said and I said what I meant. An elephant's faithful 100 percent.

If this was a Republican saying this about a "Bill Clinton" war (read: Kosovo) the Democrats and the media would be screaming for his head too.
