The American Spectator's Philip Klein reports on Jimmy Carter's speech at George Washington University on Thursday.
Of course, more recently, he has been in the news for writing a book describing Israeli policy toward Palestinians as "apartheid."
"I realize that this has caused some concern in the Jewish community," Carter said. But there's no need to overreact, because he wasn't referring to policies within Israel, only policies in the Palestinian territories. "Let me make clear that the forced segregation and domination of Arabs by Israelis is not based on race and should give no aid or comfort to those who attempted to equate racism with Zionism."
Let's see apartheid was a racist policy, and Carter calls Israeli policy "apartheid" but that doesn't infer racism. Got it.
In the question and answer period, one student asked Jimmy how he felt about the 14 members of the Carter Center advisory board who resigned in protest over his book. Though Carter said he regrets their decision to resign, he was gracious to them: "They all happen to be Jewish Americans, I understand the tremendous pressures on them."
Glad he put that story to rest.

What a terrible president he was, and what a terrible ex-president he is. It is disgusting that he piles fuel on the anti-Semitic fires at the same time that he undermines American foreign policy.
That ends just about anything I can think of good to say about him. He was the antithesis of what a leader should be. He knew nothing about how Washington worked, and demonstrated it daily. He was indecisive, displayed cowardice, ruined the US economy, conducted disastrous foreign policy that gave a jump start to the current international threat, couldn't tell right from wrong, was misguided and disloyal, displayed a haughty disdain for, and air of superiority to, subordinates (Secret Service guys hated him ... almost as much as they later hated Clinton), subverted our energy future not just in "oil relations", but in pandering to the far left by making breeder reactors illegal in the US (and thereby assuring waste-fuel disposal problems and a halt on future nuclear energy development), nearly ruined the military beyond repair.... did I mention indecisive?
Jimmy Carter lends credence to the assertion that ANYBODY in this country can grow up to be president.
But aside from all that, he is and always has been a decent man.
De Opresso Liber
. . . he IS a doltish fantasist; a self-adulating, flatulate, farcical cretin whose view of the world (America in particular) is sharpened by his narrow perspective uniquely gained by peering outwardly from the inside of his anal sphincter.
That is all!

fool, like a schoolboy walking around the planet with strapped to his back a power-grid-killing neon billboard with chaser lights and a flashing message "Kick Me, I'm a Dhimmi".
Some of my best friends ... well, former employees who quit when I publicly and irrefutably beclowned myself ... are Jews. But what do they know, they're just Jews. None of my real friends quit. And none of them are even Jews. There, that proves I'm not an anti-semite.
