The House Democrat majority can alter reality!

(except we have vid)

House Democrats control the House of Representatives. It is their fiefdom. No one gets out alive, and it seems as if the political ghost of Dan Rostenkowski, as an emblem, haunts their hallowed halls.

This is a transcript from Friday:

Speaker Pro Tem (Rep. Ellen Tauscher): For what purpose does the gentleman from Maryland rise?

Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Maryland): Madam Speaker, enough is enough.

Rep. Ellen Tauscher (D-California): [to the Parliamentarian] Does the what?

Rep. Tauscher: Does the gentleman have an amendment?

Rep. Hoyer: Madam Speaker, I move to table the resolution.

Rep. Tauscher: The resolution...

Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio): Madam Speaker! [no answer] Madam Speaker! [no answer] Madam Speaker! [no answer] Madam Speaker, I raise a point of order. The gentleman from Maryland engaged in debate...

Rep. Tauscher: The question is on the motion to table. All those in favor say aye...

Leader Boehner: Parliamentary inquiry! [no answer] Parliamentary inquiry! [no answer] Parliamentary inquiry! [no answer] Parliamentary inquiry! [no answer]

Rep. Tauscher: All those opposed say no. All those opposed say aye.

Leader Boehner: Parliamentary inquiry, Madam Speaker! [no answer] Parliamentary inquiry! [no answer] Parliamentary inquiry! [no answer] Parliamentary inquiry!

Rep. Tauscher: The Leader will be heard.

Leader Boehner: Madam Speaker, isn't it correct that the gentleman from Maryland engaged in debate, which allows the House to then proceed for up to one hour of debate on this resolution?

Rep. Tauscher: The Chair did not yet rule that the question constitutes a question of privilege. The question is on the motion to table. All those in favor say aye, all those opposed say no. In the opinion of chair, the ayes have it.

Leader Boehner: Madam Speaker, on that, I demand the yeas and nays.

(U.S. House of Representatives, 8/3/07, transcribed from the video)

That is what was said on the floor of the House, Friday.

The vid is below the fold, as well as what it became after the editing of Nancy and her goons:

The vid:

That is what was said, recorded for all to see.

Here is what Nancy and her clowns wanted to be said instead. Naturally, what they concoct goes into the Congressional record, as this did on Saturday:

"The SPEAKER pro tempore: The resolution constitutes a question of privilege."

"Mr. HOYER: Madam Speaker, I move to table the resolution.

"Mr. BOEHNER: Madam Speaker, I raise a point of order that the gentleman from Maryland engaged in debate.

"The SPEAKER pro tempore: The question is on the motion to table.

"Mr. BOEHNER: Parliamentary inquiry, Madam Speaker.

"The SPEAKER pro tempore. The gentleman will state his inquiry.

"Mr. BOEHNER. Madam Speaker, isn't it correct that the gentleman from Maryland engaged in debate, which allows the House to then proceed with up to 1 hour of debate on this resolution?

"The SPEAKER pro tempore. The gentleman was not recognized as the Chair had not yet ruled that the resolution constituted a question of privilege." The question is on the motion to table. The question was taken; and the Speaker pro tempore announced that the ayes appeared to have it.

Mr. BOEHNER. Madam Speaker, on that I demand the yeas and nays."

(Congressional Record from 8/3/07, published 8/4/07)

What the heck happened? If nothing else, those wannabe autocrats in the majority get a festering, oozing blue-green-black-brown-gray star for creativity.

This is flat out revisionist history and an example of how to ignore people who are only a bother to you.

I believe this is what they accuse President Bush of doing.

System.out.println("An argument is a sequence of statements aimed at demonstrating the truth of an assertion.); }

They just hate competition.

Hi, I have been lurking for quite some time and just recently signed up for an account and this is my first comment. Woo-hoo!

It seems that the Speaker-in-Law and her cronies arrogance knows no bounds. Speaking of the Speaker-in-Law, she was the commencement speaker at the college I used to go to, Webster University in St. Louis. For all her bluster, she is underwhelming in person, IMHO.
