Who advises John Edwards to say stuff like this?

Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards told a labor group he would ask Americans to make a big sacrifice: their sport utility vehicles.

The former North Carolina senator told a forum by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, yesterday he thinks Americans are willing to sacrifice.

Edwards says Americans should be asked to drive more fuel efficient vehicles. He says he would ask them to give up SUVs.

And why does that person still have a job with his campaign?

And why does Edwards think he is a serious candidate for the Presidency?

How come Edwards gets so much press?

It's funny... I thought Hillary would be the worst candidate in the Dem field. But that distinction goes to Edwards, if that is even possible.

Pretty people who say stupid things draw attention to themselves...

the greatest thing to ever climb into a race car."

If you refer to the Breck Girl's comment that the United States is buying both Tanks and Ammunition from foreign sources, be careful - his speech writers evidently have a recent Miss Teen SC making copy.

We don't buy "tanks" from anyone, they buy from us. The M1 series Main Battle Tank is the king of battle and we export it to several countries. We bought a handful of MRAP's from South Africa but only a handful. These are not tanks, they are basically armored SUV's and Breck Girl says we should give those up anyway.

If we suddenly went to war with all the now-allies who make ammunition we use, don't you think that'd be such a big honking deal that we could gear up rather quickly to fill in the gap?

Or for crying out loud, just nuke the snot out of them until we have time to close the ammo gap... When total war comes, we'd darn well BETTER use our strategic deterrent, or it no longer serves as a strategic deterrent. Do you see why?

I voted Harry Browne in 2000, but will never vote Ron Paul.

I call it the "Dan Quayle life insurance policy." Nobody would dare threaten her life if Edwards was next in line for President.

BTW, has anyone looked into his campaign contributors? Any large donations by Hillary supporters? After all, he doesn't just make himself look good...

According to the link, he said "he would ask Americans to make a big sacrifice". Notice the word "ask".

Since when do liberals and the greenies "ask" people to do things? The whole idea of Socialism is to use the power of government to *force* people to do what's RIGHT for the planet/poor/kids/homeless/cause du jour.

Maybe the spare John has actually gone so far to the left that he's turned into a conservative?

I cannot believe anyone takes this guy seriously. What do the Breck Girl and Miss Teen South Carolina have in common? Great hair covering a vast emptiness.

You may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you.

How does Edwards have ANY support? RCP polls still have him at around 12% of the dimmies. Ole Abe had it right about someone being able to fool some of the people all the time.

12% puts him at a solid #3, and possibly could rise to #2 if Obama keeps imploding... that's not exactly terrible support levels.

Edwards is a propped up pawn designed to make Hillary more balanced, centrist, and experienced.

A mirage of epic proportion.

Ask not what you can do for your country, ask what your country can do for you. Washington Elected Elite
