Some change that *I* can believe in.

...You know, what does that even *mean*?

I mean, if something is changing, it really doesn't matter whether you believe in it or not, right? It's still going to keep on doing it. It's like saying "oxidation that you can believe in:" you can disbelieve all you like, but that's not going to transmute a single spot of rust.

Huh. Funny that I never noticed that before.

Anyway, over in Washington State...

This one is from the Washington State Republican Party, not the Rossi campaign. Not that I expect that the latter is complaining. Or any more scared of linking Obama to Gregoire (i.e., not at all).

In other good news, (via Instapundit) Okinawa Jack Murtha's going to have a GOP opponent. Lt. Col. William Russell easily made the minimum number of write-in votes necessary to allow him on the ballot in November, so he's in; and the PA GOP could no doubt use your help, too.

Check 'em all out: after all, it's not just the White House that's at stake this year.

The national party really needs to get its rear in gear.

I also seem to remember John McCain being an official pariah here not too long ago.

That too seems to have changed.

The bit about the Ghost of Greater Democratic Turnout could have easily been just sarcasm; after all, it's been true of just about every primary for the last twenty, thirty years. Benefit of the doubt, and all that.

But then you had to make me check. Alas.

The Fuzzy Puppy of the VRWC. I've been usurped!

They can't throw out my vote this time.

A nice little ad to soften Gregoire up a bit. Not going to deliver a knock out blow, but if you can string the 39 years together with the way she was elected to her generally dismal tenure as governor, I think it provides context for a compelling narrative against her.

And using your party's nominee's own words against you is always enjoyable.

Good idea, wrong method.

The 39 years thing is amazing. Showing her in pictures with Obama? Not so good.

Obama will probably carry the state, should he be the nominee. You want distance between her and whomever is the nominee, because even if by some miracle McCain carries the state, it'll be awfully helpful to have people who vote D for President vote R for Governor. It's only because a large number did that Rossi got so close last time.

We already know about McCain,[ note front page of New York Magazine], although Russell looks to young for that insult perhaps some other will do. Odd how you don't become a hero until becoming a Democrat. Still, I thought ageism was a species of prejudice, but apparently the best thing about principles is that you can change them every fifteen minutes or so. Not that that is a symptom of mental instability, after all, Murtha isn't a geezer just McCain.

Good luck to Lt Col Russell and send Jack to Okinawa.

as a title when running for public office. It would be different were he retired. Then he could use the title LTC (ret.). But while he is still a serving member of the military, I believe it is inappropriate and possibly a violation of military regulations to use his military rank for partisan political purposes.
