AP Is Popular With The Troops

In spite of winning a Pulitzer Prize by having insurgent affiliated stringers document the cold-blooded execution of Iraqi election workers, the Associated Press remains very popular with US troops in Iraq.

This photo, by AP photographer Maya Alleruzzo shows the high esteem in which that venerable wire service is held by soldiers. It even ran on the front page of the Honolulu Advertiser.

A shout out to BlackFive for spreading the word.

Update by Thomas: Greetings to our lurking moonbats! For your information, this highly photoshopped photo is directly courtesy of the Associated Press. That's right: You caught us. We put a deep mole into the AP so we could arrange to have a photo altered to show some kid flipping the photographer off -- and then our second mole passed it along to the wire service. Great, great, great is our power.

The AP is probably held in a little less esteem than the VC

... by comparing them to today's Mainstream Media. After all, the Viet Minh believed in something, though it was the wrong thing.

Just displaying the collective IQ of the MSM.

before I caught on... Heh.

A blogger in the Dailykos has posted a magnified version of this soldier's hand showing what appears to be a smudged-out (photoshop) middle finger, and dubious pixelation.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/4/22/172217/168

I wonder HOW the DKos photo got altered?

but then they have to say that AP doctored the photo, because that photo, with extended finger, ran on the front page of the Honululu Advertiser. I'd like to think we have a mole in the AP but their reportage doesn't indictate that is the case.

There is no mystery here. You can count two knuckles below the extended finger, and just forward of it you can see the trigger guard of the weapon.

This is just more crap from ignoramuses.

There is all of one possible doctoring source: The AP. The photo ran that way on the front page of the Honolulu Advertiser.

But, hey, the reality in which, you those guys live -- it only barely intersects ours.

A soldier is always clear on who is the enemy. I would hate like hell to see what would happen if Reid and Pelosi started snapping some pictures...

Let\'s also note that even if we give Redstate the benefit of this humongous doubt, and assume that this index finger is a middle finger, the premise behind the conclusion that \"AP is unpopular among soldiers\" can be reconstructed as follows:

because one soldier is shown touching a trigger with a middle finger, it follows that most or soldiers in Iraq dislike the AP.

The extrapolation is made from 1 soldier making a \"statement\" to most soldiers hating the AP for whatever reason.

Gallup must be jealous of Redstate\'s ability to gather a representative sample.

...of our ability to correctly punctuate our sentences.

Last I checked, y'all had moved on from the photoshopping thing to a sort of half-formed consensus that it's not only photoshopped, but it's also the index finger. I can only presume that the room temperate (Centigrade) IQ consensus has crystallized in the belief that it's actually the index finger, although an index finger remarkable for having a knuckle between it and the thumb. Welcome.

I see you also launched from the "those fascists are reading meaning that isn't there" comment threads. Did they give you any other ideas before you wandered over here?

Moving on to what could laughably be called your question (you coulda just linked the dKos trash and been done with it), golly gosh gee, I'm glad to see that the sort of warm, deep sense of verbal irony and laughing jousting for which lefties are well-known is alive and well.

...just so they could avoid saying "Well, we got that wrong."

I mean, it didn't even occur to them to look first.

thinking first, what makes you think for even a second that they would look first?

But they saw what they wanted to see.

There was great truthiness there; they knew it.

when the 1 agrees with their world view. That' how Cindy Sheehan came to represent all bereaved mothers (until committing the absolute faux pas of dissing Queen Hillary). And don't you guys constantly pick a military guy (or two when really ambitious) to hide behind when you're trashing the Iraq effort? Like those favorite generals that get trotted out from time to time?

Where they also edit the sample ? Then claim the right to tell everyone how to live ?

He had a moment of fame destroying a CNN camera while the cameraman was trying to use it. He says he was severely chastised something about not destroying the cameraman. His words not mine.

He was sent here. We're hoping his master comes next.

You know how it is, though. You kill the drone, the master is less inclined to follow it down the hole.
