Bush in Iraq

Good Labor Day morning. While we were sleeping, the President showed up in Iraq on his way to Australia. He's meeting with military commanders and mingling with the troops.

The President continues to build the case that the new strategy in Iraq, only a part of which is the "surge," is working. Reports from the ground, including our own Jeff Emanuel, verify that the strategy is, in fact, working.

More notable than these reports from the ground, however, is the Democrats changing their tune from "cut and run" to "nip and tuck tail."

"A Meeting in the Desert of the War Council."

It's a very apt description.

“Well, the trouble with our liberal friends is not that they are ignorant, but that they know so much that isn't so.” – Ronald Reagan

amongst the troops, I always feel a sense of pride and a chuckle because AQ must always be so angry that he came in and left and they had not a clue and of course how angry it makes the Democrats....those are just bonuses.

A commenter on another blog said that, had Bush just flown over Iraq on the way to Australia, the libs would be whining about his ignoring our troops. Since he's stopped in Iraq and is WITH our troops, they're whining like babies anyway. There is no making these people happy and what are they going to do when they lose their antichrist??

There is nothing better than seeing Bush surrounded by the troops. Mutual love and admiration. It's one of the things (we know the others) that simply drove the BDS crowd insane on the carrier in May 2003. Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one who loved and still loves that spectacle. TG I got it on tape because we know the Drive Bys will never let us see it again.

You may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you.

Is that the same carrier where he played dress up and announced "mission accomplished"? Just a friendly reminder that boosting morale and reality aren't always the same thing!

I voted Harry Browne in 2000, but will never vote Ron Paul.

...to that rather bad mobying here I would have let you live. I enjoy watching people chew bitter bones about the flight suit, years after the American public has demonstrated that they really didn't care one way or the other.

Alas, you didn't quite measure up.

The Fuzzy Puppy of the VRWC. I've been usurped!

Doesn't he know ?? GWB is supposed to cower in the White House.
Unfair, indeed.

...for lack of the same resolution that the United States fought WWII with, it will probably come to naught.
In WWII the USA was arrayed against what were perceived as right wing fascist enemies on the opposite sides of both oceans. The Soviet Union, allied with England and the United States, was also fighting against the Nazis. Had Hitler chosen to abide by his signed non aggression pact of August 1939, and not invade the Soviet Union, June 22, 1941, but instead concentrate his efforts on the elimination of Western Democracy and Christianity, we would instead have seen the British Communists and fellow travelers lying on the roadbeds in front of DD M-4 Shermans and Hobart's Funnies on their ways down to the embarkation points in the days before any planned invasion of the European Continent was to have taken place.
During the 1960's, the Democratic Party here at home, was infiltrated and usurped by elements of the Communist Party. The female WaPo author of the article that detailed elements of the CIA's renditions program, happens to be married to a gentleman with a long history of Communist activism, among them a lengthy involvement in undermining Ronald Reagan's and Ollie North's covert efforts to undermine the Nicaraguan Communists. The old Democratic Party of American Patriots like FDR, JFK, and "the bucks sops here" HST dissappeared with and under the benign connivance and influence of Old Guard Communist Moscow. Don't kid yourself with the idea that Ronnie Reagan won the Cold War against Communism, because the Communist party is alive, well, and thriving under the disguise of today's Democratic Party.
Aside from the Democratic Party's embrace of the so called Hero of the Communist North Vietnamese People's Revolution as their standard bearer in 2004, two of the contestants for that party's 2008 nomination are promising to bring us "Big Brother" out of George Orwell's "1984". If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck.....Red State's reader's are smart enough to figure out the rest.
The philosophical remnants of the "Evil Empire" in their new cloaks at home in America will do whatever they can to torpedo any American effort to overthrow and replace their old clients states governments in the Middle East. In the 1940's Tokyo Rose and Axis Sally were far removed from the American Mind and Heartland, today they appear daily in the NYT, the WaPo, ABC, CBS, CNN, and NBC in unending attempts to subordinate and defeat what really is in America's best interests.
