"John Smith" and the "documentary" of Marine Spc. Lee Tucker

The Islamic Army of Iraq produced a propaganda film targeted at Americans who know their way around the Internet. Curt at Flopping Aces has the decently produced video. Following is what the Lee's Life for Lies webpage says about their film of Marine Spc. Lee Tucker, who allegedly went over to the anti-war side before allegedly getting killed in Iraq:

The Release is based on personal information found on a flash memory device belongs to Spc.LEE KENDEll TUCKER (U.S Marine-590-80-5469), captured after him being wasted during an ambush on his vehicle

LEE him self was an anti-war activist, proving that many of U.S soldiers serving in Iraq are against this war and they have no reason to fight and die

Download, Share, and Discuss the movie ... make your effort to understand and reveal the bunch of American Government lies on which this war was based

We know that there are many good people just like LEE, but we can't verify them, as they are simply soldiers .. carrying weapons and wearing the uniform, so do your best to make sure that good people won't be deployed into "bad" situations .... Do your best to stop the war and get your countrymen out of Iraq

A narrator with a distinctly American accent reads a letter that Mr. Tucker purportedly wrote to his parents before he was killed after his Humvee was bombed. At the end of the film is an "interview" of "John Smith" by the IAI, and it may be the same voice as the one who narrated the forged letter. Mr. Smith agreed to be interviewed by IAI, thus granting permission to have his views aired by a group whose primary objective is to expel Americans from Iraq, violently if that's what it takes.

But there is one small problem with the film: Lee Tucker is alive and well. Not only that, the anti-war letter is most likely a forgery:

Tucker's mother Pam of Fort Worth, Texas, told ABC News that Tucker is not anti-war and that he could be returning to Iraq later this year.

A mother wouldn't say something like that if Mr. Tucker's "letter" were legit. No surprise, really, since the words in the video sounded eerily like a speech given at Leftwingy-ding peace march. Lee Tucker is indeed a victim, but of identity theft, not of the Iraq War.

According to Rusty Shackleford, the LLFL webpage is "run by the Islamic Army in Iraq's al Boraq Media." More from Dr. Shackleford:

Interestingly enough, I was looking at the source code for the page and Code Pink is so important to whoever designed the webpage for the Islamic Army in Iraq, that they insisted on putting the word "codepink" in the metadescription.

The next time some tinfoil conspiracy nut says that terrorists want us to keep fighting in Iraq, ask them to explain their explicit support of American peace activists.

FYI--If you need further proof that "Lee Flash" is a website run by the propaganda arm of The Islamic Army of Iraq, just scroll to the very bottom of the page where it says "Managed by alboraq media organization 2007".

Also, a quick WHOIS search reveals that is registered to the same physical address as iasite.info--which is the website for the Islamic Army in Iraq!

According to Laura Mansfield:

The Islamic Army in Iraq is the group that released the two Juba Sniper videos showing American servicemen being shot by the so-called Baghdad Sniper. In fact, some of the scenes used by the Islamic Army in the Juba Sniper 2 video, released in October 2006, are reused in this video.

[...]

Like they did for the Juba Sniper video, the IAI has set up a special website as well as a blog for this video. The domain, lee-flash.com, is registered to the same individual who is the owner of record for the jubaonline.org, the domain used for the Juba Sniper video.

The website hosting the video has the following WhoIs information:

owner: Aaron Wilson
email: Whois Privacy and Spam Prevention by DomainTools.com
address: 17216 Saticoy Street Van Nuys
city: Los Angeles
state: Ca
postal-code: 91406
country: US
phone: +01.3142211554

Lee's Life for Lies has a weblog, and its links page is similar to something you would see at Cindy Sheehan's website. In fact, her site (Casey's Peace Page) is on LLFL's list of links. So are...

Gold Star Families for Peace
Bring Them Home Now
Code Pink
Common Dreams
Progressive Democrats of America
truthout.org
Veterans for Peace

...to name a few. This doesn't necessarily mean that these left-wing groups support the Islamic Army in Iraq, but it's clear that the Islamic Army in Iraq favors these left-wing defeatists, and IAI uses almost exactly the same anti-war rhetoric as the rabid anti-war crowd.

So what should conservatives and the Bush administration do? Expose the lies of LLFL for one thing. Find out who "John Smith" is, for another, as well as the forger if that person isn't "John Smith". As far as I'm concerned, if that forger is American, he or she crossed the line from anti-war to aiding and abetting the enemy. This is another battle in the Information War, and Americans of all stripes should confront this crap, expose it and beat it down. At least one American should be in jail for this.
