Hillary: The Surge Is Working

Even Hilary admits the surge is working.

Speaking at the annual convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Hillary noted that the "new tactics" in Iraq are working:

Unfortunately, the liberal presidential wannabee went on to say that the best way to honor U.S. soldiers is "by beginning to bring them home."

The crowd was more in-tune with McCain, who speaking after Hillary, said a troop pullout would be a mistake:

The reception for Mrs. Clinton was respectful yet tepid. Mr. McCain received loud applause when he suggested that a troop pullout would be “a mistake of colossal historical proportions.”

[. . . ]

Mr. McCain’s speech was interrupted by friendly applause from people seated throughout the hall. When Mrs. Clinton spoke, applause often was started by three young people in the middle of the room who were not wearing the trademark blue V.F.W. cap or convention name badges.

Hillary is wrong about pulling the troops out. The best way to honor the troops is to win.

Hillary that is. This seems to be a position untennable for her even. I don't know anytime in history of warfare that one side has said that their tactics are working and that it is time to also leave the battlefield at the exact same time. If she wants to take this position into the general election that is her prerogative. Just for fun, someone needs to link this story and put it on the Kos to see the flames.

This says it all:

If you'd like to see this go to Charlie Rose's website. I watched some of it last night on tv and it was very interesting. Been a long time since I've heard direct responses of substance to the plethora of liberal talking points on the US war in Iraq and our world domination of course. Rose acted intellectual, all-knowing, and tough as an interviewer but McCain was more interesting to listen to.

One example is Rose bringing up the terrible blow that Viet Nam was to our national psyche so McCain mentioned the millions killed after we left. You don't hear that too much in the mainstream or leftist arenas. Then he expounded on the current countries surrounding Iraq and what they've indicated from their own mouths they'd like to do after we leave. Which led to the state in which that would leave Israel. If at all.

To which Charlie replied that no Israeli prime minister had such low approval numbers. Stunning intellect that man. Charlie also quoted Thomas Freedman (sp?) who I take it is his favorite expert. But I digress.

I bet Clinton already has a copy of the Petraeus report. Hence these statements.

however Hillary yesterday went even further and called for the removal of Maliki a la Levin. This is of course a basic no no of foreign policy 101. You never meddle in the inner dynamics of another country's democracy. It is shocking that two Senators would take such a drastic step.
