I wonder who General Petraeus and his troops think is most supportive?

Congressional Democrats are trying to divert attention from insulting our military leader in Iraq and pandering to the loony left by attacking Rush Limbaugh. He is one of the strongest supporters of our troops, yet Democrats claim he is not being strong enough. I wonder who General Petraeus and his troops think is most supportive?

Pick your battles and get on offense.

Much better reaction than Mitt's I must say...

Thanks for putting this statement out.

Class act.

That's a good question, but I don't think it's something Gen Patraeus or the troops think about often. They are willing to give their lives, so why would they care what others thought of them? It probably hurts their feelings to see their own country taunt them, but I don't think they are the tpe of people who go out looking for praise.

Courage becomes a living and an attractive virtue when it is regarded not only as a willingness to die manfully, but also as a determination to live decently.

But no, the troops never hear about what's going on at home, or what politicians are saying about them, and they certainly don't care:

They don't go out looking for praise because the troops are better people than that.

it certainly hurts me that people in this country would stoop to such antics. It bothers me and yes, I would assume that it would bother the troops whether is does or not. If it upsets people that support them, then I stop worrying about whether it bothers the troops... I would assume that it does and respond accordingly!

that they do wonder how people could be so stupid.

and the C-130 pilot who flew him in and out of Afghanistan during his trip there in 2005, told him he was never more proud than to have had the privilege to escort Rush back then.

The phoney critics of the phoney soldier story never talk to real soldiers. If they did, they would know what a phoney flap this is. I've listened to Rush since 1990 and no one has been more supportive of the troops than he.

Wednesday the 26th that got this kerfuffle going. The critics never talk to real soldiers.

know what Americans stand with them and that would be the reason that Democrats are always trying to subvert the counting of the absentee military vote.

Freedom of Religion not Freedom from Religion

Rush is right. This would make a great poll question for the troops. The results of that poll should put the democrats in their place. I'm with Fred too!

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Get over yourselves.

Please provide documentation that anyone is attempting to get Congress to pass a law forbidding MoveOn to criticize anybody.

There's a big difference between a non-binding resolution condemning their exercise of free speech and abridging it. They are free to say what they please, the NYT is free to print it. We are free to be critical of their judgment in saying what they chose to say, and the Congress is free to condemn what they've said.

And, oh yes, they come back. That's really the funny part, especially since they usually also want rather badly for us to think that we don't matter.

combination! Thanks, Sen. Thompson, for once again stepping up to the plate and knocking the ball solidly out into the bleachers. Your response to this situation is most appreciated and gives us a clear idea as to how you'd respond in the White House as well. A pleasure to see you here again.

on Tuesday nights Hannity and Colmes, Hannity had a montage of Democrat-Liberal "leaders" insulting, degrading and lying about American soldiers. This collection of soundbites needs to be posted everywhere it can be.

Anyone record the show?

I say Hoorah Fred! Go get em and thanks for running... As to your question, we all know that answer! hehe...
