As many of you and many of us head out the door for a long weekend and the unofficial start of summer, we wish you safe travels and an enjoyable time.
We also say thank you to the men and women who gave their lives for this land of free and this home of the brave.

please come by the Gathering of Eagles / Rolling Thunder get together at the Lincoln Memorial at 11AM and there really is not enough thanks in the world to the brave men and women who protect our right to say what we like on a daily basis around the world, you all rock!
Where we are and where we are going.
Most of all to remember those that gave their all so we might do so.

If you live in the Southern California area, go out to National Cemetery in Riverside on Monday for the West Coast version of the Gathering of Eagles. It is a wonderful display of pride in America, Service and Sacrifice, and motorcycles. They have a program too with special guests like Medal of Honor winners and local politicians.
If you go, find a soldier or a vet and say thank you - if you find a gold star family member, offer them your appreciation and a hug if appropriate.
If you can handle it, go over to the new graves, find a name on one of the markers, and say a prayer for the families left behind. There are many ways to say thanks.

Let us be the bigger people this weekend. It's too easy to get sucked into polemic debates with uninformed zealots on the Left. John Edwards has asked his people to exploit this holiday weekend to "re-claim" patriotism and demonstrate against the war.

Let the left simmer in their own bile this weekend. Stand your ground, celebrate this holiday, but lets not sully our national holiday by engaging these idiots. Their lack of class is self-evident to moderates and independents.
