Pro-American Victory Money Not Good Enough For MSNBC And CNBC

while moveon money spends just fine and dandy, thank you very much

Apparently, Pro America and Pro Victory money is too "dirty" for CNBC & MSNBC according to PowerLine Blog. AND, if you have ANYONE helping your cause in support of finishing the job in Iraq that may have EVER worked for President Bush, you can forget about being credible in the eyes of the fruits and nuts out there hell bent on losing NO MATTER WHAT.

gideon1789's excellent report regarding a newly organized coalition named Freedom's Watch tells of a group that formed with the following "Mission":

Freedom’s Watch is dedicated to educating individuals about and advancing public policies that protect America’s interests at home and abroad, foster economic prosperity, and strengthen families. Through outreach and education, communications to key members of Congress, and bold public awareness initiatives, Freedom’s Watch is fighting for the ideals and policies that keep America strong and prosperous.

Now, they are CERTAINLY not a Pro-War group, as some have suggested but they DID, as a first initiative, launch a 15 million dollar ad campaign focusing on getting the word out about just how important it is to America's future to "ensur[e] Congress continues to fully fund the troops with the ultimate goal of victory in the War on Terror."

They have issued four 30-second ads expressing the strong belief that Iraq matters, victory there matters, the sacrifices made to this point must NOT be in vain, and defeating terrorism DOES take place, in part, on the streets of Iraq.

I find it especially intriguing that the Moveon freaks, so deeply engulfed in their BushitlerchimpyMcHalliburton™ obsessions, would be so quick to allege conspiracy and a corruption of idealsat Freedom's Watch, while they think nothing of being funded by, perhaps, the most corrupt fringe fruitcake out there on the Left side of insanity.

We'll deal with a Soros-funded group being hit with the 3rd largest fine ever levied by the FEC on another day. For now, consider whether we should be taking MoveON, and those of their ilk, seriously (who plan a "Die-In" to make their supposed point about whether America should concern herself with "winning" wars).

My vote is with WINNING...

More below the fold...

Consider this from the fruitcakes who believe surrendering, under the right circumstances, to be the RIGHT thing to do:

"The White House running an ad campaign is a sign of desperation, and Ari Fleischer's emergence is so ironic since he's the guy that pitched the lies that got us into the war in the first place," says Tom Matzzie, Washington director of MoveOn.org.

"Our view is that it is a big strategic mistake to put Iraq on TV," Matzzie says. "The more Iraq is on TV, the more it's bad for the president, for his supporters and the Republicans in 2008."

It's quite the strategy to consider America's warfighting something to hide and keep quiet about, should anyone hope to win an election.

Telling, in fact.

I find it interesting that, while organizations such as Vets For Freedom and Freedom's Watch and others form their coalitions to offer an alternative to cut and run and surrender and defeat, MoveOn and their ilk who would see us surrender to a cause they no longer believe worthy of American effort continues to "control" a media that sees a loss in the war on terror as somehow beneficial to America's future. Perhaps saddest of all is the notion that it might be beneficial to their bottom line(s) as well.

It's quite clear that the Democrats would see us LOSE in Iraq, given that they see this as an electoral opportunity. Given all the rhetoric regarding losses in war being deemed victories in the political realm, I can't help but wonder why the Dems ever supported a military option to begin with unless they believed the loss was a foregone conclusion before they ever cast the original 'aye'.

The basic conundrum the media faces NOW is the battle between advertising and sales. On the one hand, all this anti-Bush, anti-Republican, anti-war propaganda has served their sales efforts fairly well. Of course, as Laura Ingraham and others have coined the "dinosaur media" phrase, and as overall sales continue their steady decline, year over year sales may be suffering but Iraq and its associated shrill has gone a long way toward slowing the steady bleed in the so-called "mainstream media"...at least for now.

The flip side however, the advertising revenues, is critically important to ANY business operation, and especially so for media outlets. It takes BIG dollars to run these bloated business models, and SURELY initiatives such as those by Freedom's Watch are helpful to that end. So, with MSNBC and CNBC having bottom-line troubles, why turn down the money from Freedom's Watch?

In my cynical mind, the answer is easy-there's a whole lot of mileage to be enjoyed by "taking a stand" against a thing, regardless whether it might be in the long-term best interests of the country. In this "it's all about me" world we live in these days, the ant-war anti-victory crowd is eating this up:

[T]he coalition, Americans Against Escalation in Iraq, wraps up its "Iraq Summer" campaign with 50 town hall meeting in about two-dozen states. The liberal activist group, MoveOn.org is also holding hundreds of vigils across the country to call on members of Congress to push for the swift withdrawal of troops.

The coalition spent about $12 million during the summer on television ads and grassroots organizing in 15 states aimed at getting 40 Congressional Republicans to change their mind about the war.

Moira Mack, a spokeswoman for the group, said she’s been pleased to see several Republicans "changing their language" about the war. She pointed to Virginia Senator John Warner, who last week called on President Bush to withdraw some troops from Iraq by the end of the year. Ms. Mack said Americans Against Escalation in Iraq plans to continue its efforts when members of Congress return to Washington after Labor Day.

Hmmm. THEIR money was fine...Freedom's Watch money is apparently tainted somehow...or doesn't serve the greater agenda of the MSM.

What would Nancy and Hillary say about this? Not a D#%& thing I bet.

We can expect big denunciations of this soon, I am sure...

The WaPo highlighted Allen's gaffe on the front page for two months, while burying anything Steele did. For example, when Steele was endorsed by the (black) leaders of Prince George's County, it was a small story far back in the front section.

Does anyone doubt that these races would have turned out differently had there actually been balanced reporting?

So now the MSM is working on extending Dem gains in 2008. They are hoping that their strategy of ignoring or belittling good news while harping on any bad news will "end" (i.e., lose us) the Iraq War.

Even with a $15 million ad buy, Freedom's Watch can hardly compete with the daily anti-war media drumbeat.

But it's just a start. Freedom's Watch will grow, and so will the other pro-victory groups, as more and more Americans see that many have not given up the fight and are making strong arguments for finishing the mission.

It's war -- so when can we start shooting back at the enemy Democrats?

they could possibly believe that they are serving the best interests of the country depending on how you feel about America. The fact that they want what the American terrorist supporters such as our far left Democrat political leaders want and the terrorists want could be just a strange coincidence, that won't happen again for at least 10 seconds. They probably just don't understand where the results of their support for the terrorists will lead. It's not like they see Vietnam as an example, to see what happens when leftist Americans support terrorists.

People still watch that crap? Every conservative needs to chat with their friends and family, and learn to find the channel changer FAST!!!! Better yet...find the OFF button when it comes to news on TV.

I don't know how any conservative can stomach MSNBC and CNBC. I wouldn't be surprised if they hired Al Franken or Rosie O'Donnell as their primetime anchors. Thank goodness there's another cable channel out there to at least begins to level the playing field.
