We can beat Tom Daschle.

Polls show Congressman John Thune with a tiny lead in South Dakota. News reports also show Tom Daschle has gotten so desperate, he's broken his pledge to keep third parties (read: national Democrats and hard-core left-wingers) out of South Dakota.
This means that the money is flowing to SD for Tom Daschle.
John Thune needs your help. Now. You may not be able to hop on a plane or in a car and get to South Dakota to pound the pavement.
But you can pay for yard signs, bumper stickers, last-minute radio advertisements, food and drink for volunteers, cellphone bills for the phoen banks.
A John Thune victory would send a shockwave through the Democratic establishment. Bigtime.
You can do this. We can do this. $1,000 by tomorrow at Midnight. Donate. Add two cents. Post it in the comments of this thread.
And here's my $50.02.
$949.98 to go. Get at it. Then get out there and work for the President.
With time to spare - RedStaters donated $2,120.40! Well done! But don't forget - our Jim Demint drive is falling short. Scroll down and help.

Another $50.02 from Minnesota. Let's get him home.
$10.02 from Texas.
Time to retire Daschle.
Off to the phone banks. See y'all tomorrow.
From my calculations, the balance remaining before my contribution this evening would have been $639.40. After my 100 worth of Dachle busting juice...
new tally stands at $539.40 to go!
Keep up the good work folks, the campaign HQ is pumped, I called in my donation!
B
$25.02 from a new poster in St. Louis, where a Thune victory would go a long way in easing the pain of a World Series defeat.
.......and please - if you have any info - let me know about Bush's litigation fund. I hear he has about $10 mil., though it might go fast considering.
We feel your pain. Only we've never been there.
Another $25.03 from here.
Next to the presidential race, this is the one that I want to turn out well. Daschle has got to go!
Someone's got to turn out Daschle so we can get the Senate working again. Count me for $50 for Senator Thune.
From The People's Republic of Taxachusetts! Tom Must Gooooooooooo!
Ushering in Tom Daschle's early retirement!
In Aberdeen and Sioux Falls. Aberdeen is Daschle's former hometown.
My wife and I live in AZ, which is red. Have given time and $$ to our local Bush Republican orgs, as well as National. But, we clearly understand the national picture. If we desert dwellers can find another $50.02 so can the rest of you. Getting rid of the socialist demagoge Daschle is of vital importance. Common folks, push Thune over the line.
BTW, posted a diary last evening about Thune/Daschle here. Nothing earthshaking, just an update. Feeling pretty good about this race.
Daschle MUST GO. If Kerry somehow manages to squeak this out and becomes Communist-In-Chief, seeing Daschle pack his bags wouldn't be too bad of a consolation prize.
My $10.02 puts it at just over $1,000 I believe...
that's not bad, folks.
I know there's a call for another thousand, but what do you say we focus on getting DeMint up to $1000 first! Then come back to this one.
In the Weekly Standard's election predictions.
Remember friends, just at two cents to the end of your donation - it lets RedState track our effectiveness.
To cover a few extra phone calls for Thune -- already gave to DeMint in the last two appeals.
I don't question the support for Thune & DeMint, but as a suggestion for the future, it would be great to see some effort put into races where a thousand or two (or 10, as I'm sure RS will continue to grow between now and the next election!) would make a real impact, as opposed to just the highest profile races. Thune/Daschle combined have raised $32m, DeMint/Tenenbaum $13m - yes every dollar helps, but there are other candidates out there who really notice every single dollar.
Sorry, forgot the $.02. Wish I could give more. Truth is, getting rid of Daschle is priceless.
I registered just so I could post this. I'll bet a lot of people donate without registering and posting.
I wish I could give more, and as an Arizonan I wish someone would have run against McCain so that I could vote for them. Who should I write in?
J.A.
I'm feeling bad since Thune is getting all the money tonight.
That was for DeMint, not Thune.
Write in anyone. Find out if one of the Swifties lives in AZ and write his name in.
So far, the total donated to Thune that we know about (per the above comment, "I registered just to post this, etc.") is $1,495.54... That leaves $504.46 to go for $2,000!
But *don't forget DeMint or Lisa Marie Cheney, who could oust Jim "I like to hit people" Moran here in Northern Virginia...
Defeat Daschle. I gave $25.02 and may give more. Asked my wife about giving and she said, "Is that the guy who speaks out of both sides of his mouth?" I told her "Yes" So....Maybe more.
Just heard, via email, of another RedStater donating to Thune. That makes our total $1645.62.
Only a few hundred to go!! *this includes the 25.02 listed in diaries
Daschle has been in office since I was in first grade. Thune's victory will be a wonderful vindication for his mentor, Jim Abdnor, who Daschle beat in '86.
Dare to dream of a Daschle-less South Dakota.
just sent my $50....forgot the $.02.....sorry!
Kathy G
Just sent $50.02
I've been giving more than I budgeted, but this election is too important not to do what I can.
As an Ex-Pat South Dakotan who now only visits our family cabin there, my hope is that Thune can finally overcome.
I just sent 35.00 from Massachusetts (I would have sent more but our taxes are wicked high)
I missed the .02 thing but it is all good.
Great blogsite here BTW. Found it due to the Mowbray weekend.
I just donated to Mr. Thunes candidacy after reading your post. This is my first donation to a political office seeker. I sooooo want to see Mr. Daschle go down!

Just sent in 5 minutes ago. (But I posted the fact on another thread because I didn't know this new one was coming.)
