Tom Delay for President!
I would like to see Tom Delay be the Republican nominee for President in 2008.
He's a born again Christian and a strong advocate of the right wing agenda.
He interprets the laws and our Constitution in a way that benefits Republican party. He has been a relentless advocate of the Right.
It is not possible to separate the Republican party and Tom Delay, they are one body, one soul, one being, when Tom Delay breathes the Republican party breaths.
This great country would not be where it is today if not for Tom Delay.
This brave great American has the courage to put the interest of his party above all else, with nothing being higher on his list of priorities.
He is willing to travel great distances in pursuit of advancement.
He knows how to play to petty games that the power brokers of the world play.
He is willing to play these games on their home turf, or on some neutral turf.
He is brave enough to face the titans, and advance the Republican agenda in any corner of the world, at any expense, pay any fee, plough through any rough, to help push the ideas of the righteous Right Wing leadership of this country.
The Right Wing of this country is personified by Mr. Delay's leadership style.
If he were to become President he would show the Judges, and the Congress how to push our ideology with vigor and candor and with the ethics that we have been come to know from the Republican leadership.
The Left wing will attack this Church-going family man with details about this or that but they have nothing substantial, its exactly what the number three man in the Senate, the great Republican Senator from Pennsylvania Rick Santorum said today, on ABC's "This Week." "everything he's done was according to the law"
The Republican party is Tom Delay. He should be our President.
The Speaker of the house, Republican Dennis Hasdirt supports Delay 100%
Our great President George W Bush, is very close to Tom Delay, they have done great work together advancing our agenda, and we should be grateful for the fruit of their labor.
I defy you to find one Democrat who supports this great man, are they crazy?
The democrats must be in a different world they way they speak about him.
Accusations, rumors, hyperbole, these Democrats have totally lost it.
I would be embarrassed to be one.
Every time this Congress has tried to get some good work done, the Democrats have said it was a bad idea, the Tax cut (Bad idea) the war in Iraq (Bad Idea) the clear skies act (Bad idea) our energy policy (bad idea). And even now as they are benefiting from these policies, they still complain about deficit spending, etc. You can't please them.
Its time for us to shed the negative liberal rhetoric and get back to something positive.
Tom Delay for President, I'd vote for him, you should too.

...I, however, think it's a horrible idea, as do most here. Sorry.
"It is not possible to separate the Republican party and Tom Delay, they are one body, one soul, one being, when Tom Delay breathes the Republican party breaths."
"The Right Wing of this country is personified by Mr. Delay's leadership style."
"The Republican party is Tom Delay."
"to help push the ideas of the righteous Right Wing leadership of this country."
Don't you something better to do with your time than troll here. Thanks for the litany of left-wing talking points in disguise. Should we ban you now or just count this as a warning.
"I would be embarrassed to be [a democrat]."
Must be embarrassing to stoop to this kind of trollish behavior.
No, it's brilliant. I wonder a bit whether the diary poster is actually a troll trying to promote something so obviously silly. I would love to see Delay run. But I don't think he's quite that myopically egotistical.
You nominate Ted Kennedy or Barbara Boxer and we'll take Delay. I can throw my hands in the air again and curse the country for choosing rank partisans for a third time. And we can all happily decry the national "divide" while the slim R majority outvotes the Ds. Ds can clamor that they MUST nominate a "real" liberal next time to "stand up" to the "right wing lie machine." And we can live happily ever after.
Deal? :)
That disaster would benefit the third party movement in this country immeasurably.
The thing that interests me as H. Clinton moves into attack position is that she could actually win this thing if you all bollux the nomination process. Maybe I'm just being optimistic, but methinks you guys could be in for an ugly primary if this Republican intra-party tensions continues. Not that I'm betting, or pulling, for Hillary to win. I would happily vote for her, knowing full well I was probably buying a ticket on the Titanic. Meanwhile there would be mass defections in Kentucky and other places, as she delivers the coup de grace to the Southern state Democratic parties.
I think you are right that Hillary has a real chance and that it mainly depends on who the Rs nominate. Honestly, I think the best antidote to Hillary would be GOV Bush. I dislike the dynastic implication in both cases, but they would be much less important if they are the two nominees. And GOV Bush is the #1 best nominee for the Rs. He locks in the largest swing state. He is Catholic (swing), married to a Hispanic and has Hispanic children (swing), and has impeccable conservative credentials while remaining popular in a swing state.
He would be the actual "next Reagan." And he'd lock up the South while being less divisive elsewhere.
That being said, I expect the R nominee to be a not-so-well-known GOV so its hard to match them up this early. I still have my hopes pinned on Owens (CO), Pawlenty (MN), or Sanford (SC). All are strong conservatives who don't have national reputations as right-wingers (like Brownback or Santorum). I think any of those 3 could probably handle Hillary just fine. Now if you put up GOV Bredesen, I'll start getting worried.
- I wonder a bit whether the diary poster is actually a troll
There is troll juice dripping down its chin. That's how you tell.
would be pretty damn cool by me. But there's this little annoying thing called a primary that somehow always screws things up.
Jeb Bush might have the right credentials for the job, but you would really be pushing your luck, IMHO. President Bush has relatively high negative residuals which Jeb would inherit no matter what he did. Jeb would run well against Hillary, as that would defuse the dynastic talk somewhat, not to mention the high Bush residual negatives would be outstripped by the high Clinton residual negatives.
"Dennis Hasdirt supports Delay 100%"
"Hasdirt"? Is that what the moonbats call him?
Here's the giveaway. No one on the Right Wing refers to themselves as "right wing" for the same reason you, Mr. Troll, don't refer to yourself as a "left wing." It doesn't make for good persuasion to self-identify as not moderate. Next time don't cut an paste from Emily's List or a Howard Dean speech if you can handle it.
If you're going to waste your time trolling at least demonstrate enough intelligence to do it right. Geez.
Ronnie Earle would be sure to make something up to indict him for. Then that would give the MSM something to trumpet for months.
Well I can presume that Ford, Jr. is done in TN then since his name is being drug through the mud. Or maybe enough voters know the difference between the two. Either way, Bush is the best candidate. Maybe taking a pass this time is best. If Hillary wins, he could run in 2012. If an R wins, he should be able to snag a Cabinet seat.
Interestingly, if he isn't running, then he really should take the FL Senate seat this is his for the taking. But he has already turned down that chance. So it looks like he'll go at least 2 years without being in office and probably 6.
No Senator since JFK has won the Presidency in his own right. I don't think that's coincidental. And how many of the recent Presidents were governors? Bush, Clinton, Reagan, Carter, Nixon...
Those since JFK who weren't governors were Veeps (Johnson, Ford, Bush)....
And losing candidates? SEN Kerry, SEN Dukakis, SEN Mondale, SEN McGovern.
Give me a GOP GOV -- be it Bush (dream scenario), Owens, Pawlenty, or Sanford -- versus SEN Clinton. We win that one.
but can understand why Republican's feel they must. However, I remain totally unconvinced the Delay would stand even a remote chance at defeating even a medium level Democratic candidate, unless every single swing voter went with him, I don't see that.
Probably a reasonably decent man I would suppose, but does not have the qualities that are really needed to win a Presidential Campaign(not in a character sense, but a public presence sense). Don't know about the troll thing, but I do honestly believe that Delay would stand very little chance on the national stage for that position. And, I have nothing personal against him, just an observation.
Which is one reason why this is an obvious troll. No one is floating a Delay in '08 meme. No one thinks he will run. Heck no one is even talking about him trying to replace Hutchinson in the SEN. Many have rallied to his defense when he was attacked by the left, but no one thinks he is Presidential material. That along with the excerpted quotes among other giveaways from the "insider" parts of the site make this a pretty easy call.
This is a troll. Plain, simple and sad.
You imbeciles. Look at the author's name. "Silence Dogood" is one of the pen names used by Benjamin Franklin to poke fun at enemies of liberty.
And I'll give the troll a point for that one. Creative.
Once they're caught they should give a little history lesson, say on which essays Franklin used that pen-name, kind of like when you catch a leprachaun at the end of a rainbow and he gives you his pot of gold.
because he never won a national election.
You act as if you are ashamed of Rep. DeLay. We should all be encouraging The Hammer to run for president. He's tough as nails. I bet he could even kick John Bolton's butt. I'd pay to see that.
Don't get me wrong. I like Bolton too. He's like daring people to cross him. That's why he wears the goofy hairpiece that's a differnt color than his mustache. He's waiting for someone to say something about it so he can stick him with a shiv.
You got to respect a guy who's like that.
hurt him a lot though. Especially when talking about '08, because too many would see Gov Bush as an extension of Bush 43, even though they are very different people.
Also, Gov Bush seems to currently be leading the crappiest children services department in history, and to top it off they don't know where their sex offenders are. I can see the dems pulling some Willie Horton type ads on that one.
I think he would be a good GOP candidate, I just don't know that that running on the heels of his brother's second term makes him good enough.
Although if Hillary gets the nod, it may work, because there are a lot of swing voters that would take the Dynasty over Hillary.
Her leadership skills will be tested in 2006. I believe she will prevail.
Her stock will rise in proportion to an increase in the Republican majority that will comprise the Senate in the 110th Congress.
Sen Dole's fundraising skills need improvement over those exhibited during her unsuccessful bid for the Republican nomination in 2000.
While Sen Dole is not my personal choice for 2008, I would definitely support her nomination over Sen McCain or any of the 'sell-out seven.'
Especially those done by banned users? I really don't like seeing this on the recommended list.
...intentions:
He is willing to travel great distances in pursuit of advancement.
Pretty funny line, though. Sounds like something they'd say on the Daily Show. What I want to know is, why, given the obvious trolling involved, is this a recommended diary (I take it this is something the powers that be here at RS can change, right?).
Or you could just rent National Treasure for an explanation, which is what I'm assuming this guy did. He doesn't seem like the type who would've thought that up without Hollywood telling him to.
I think Michael's feelings are really hurt that no one pointed the genius of the name earlier, though...

like to see Tom Delay be the Republican nominee for President in 2008.
