FEC shows a couple cards on media exemption

When CBS was in the midst of its late unpleasantness, many complaints were filed with the Federal Election Commission, alleging that CBS had coordinated with the Kerry campaign to make an illegal contribution (hit piece broadcast) in an effort to defeat the President.

The FEC has closed Matter Under Review 5540 and unanimously voted to reject the allegations. Allison Hayward has everything you need to know about the case. Why is this important now? Because it's directly related to bloggers' efforts to secure for themselves the protection of the media exemption.
