What You Can Do To Help

If you live in the southeast United States, I urge you to immediately check with your state or county department of health / family services / housing. There may be immediate things you can do to help those displaced from the hurricane.

If you live in the Metro Atlanta area, the Fulton County Children and Family Services has taken in hundreds of families and is in immediate need of necessities such as toiletries, hygiene products, diapers, clothing, etc.

Additionally, as far north as Alpharetta we have had 5 enrollees into the elementary school for next week.

You can do something meaningful, now. You can touch these people's lives in a positive way. I encourage you to do so.

Thank you.

I got the following response to a post I made about how I might be able to help over at AJC.com:

There are MANY families at the Adamsville Rec. Center on MLK BLVD. in Atlanta who are in desperate need of help and places to stay. Due to liability the shelter can't give out the names of private families who want to help so you must GO to the shelter and find a family that fits

what you have to offer
. There are children and single moms who are in need of help NOW. Please contact me or the shelter if you need info.

[Name and phone withheld from web post]

Adamsville Rec ( has been busy all day) 404-505-3181

Anyone have any more information than this?

???

I want to help.

I donated to the red cross to help natural disaster victims.

What have you done for them lately?
