Protest Freaks

I watched C-SPAN's coverage of CindyFest 2005. These goofs couldn't help themselves. The protest was suppose to be against the Iraq War, but Palestine had to be mentioned along with globalization, Cuba, and gay marriage. Surprisingly in the time I watched no one wanted to "Free Mumia!" He must be passe. The Cuban 5 is where it's at. Here are some lowlights:
- Virginia Setshedi, South African Community Activist (C-SPAN's description) chanted, "Free, free Palestine!" Then she complained about policies coming out of Washington, D.C. causing poverty across the globe. Half of what she chanted was impossible to understand.
- My sister's response to Gloria La Riva head of the National Committee to Free the Cuban Five: "Free the Jackson 5!" This is the same Gloria La Riva who was the target of Tim Blair in 2004. The same woman who complained of the lack of social justice in the U.S. ignored the oppression in Cuba. But at least "You will never see a Jerry Springer or Cristina show on Cuban television."
- My sister was then "offended" by Mahdi Bray's awful impersonation of Martin Luther King, Jr. The executive director of the Muslim American Society Freedom Foundation tried his best to emulate MLK's verbal starts and stops.
The best part was the ANSWER organizers making the crowds endure all the speakers with their Leftist pet causes that had little to do with the Iraq War. A new speaker would come up and the crowd would moan loudly. They wanted to march, but the ANSWER gang hushed them. Getting "valuable" C-SPAN TV time before an audience of over 50 people was too tempting to pass up.
I now just watched Cindy Sheehan's talk. She sounded like a kindergarden teacher. "You're a part of history!" "Pat yourselves on the back." "Thank you. I love you." Such eloquence hasn't rung in my ears since...since this loon said the Yakuza sent Hurricane Katrina to New Orleans.
Sunday, you have a chance to support the President, our troops, and the Iraqis fighting for peace, security, and freedom. Unlike the Left, you will speak one message with one voice. Say it loud. Say it proud.

I watched very little. It was about as interesting as watching paint dry with the predictable anti-Bush rhetoric. I don't know why they call it an anti-war rally. Very little was about the war. It appeared that most of it was an anti-American rally.
Joe
many people are going to show up for leftist marches anymore. Wow. I actually pity them. I get unbearably board when listing to speaches that I agree with even when I have nothing better to do. Hopefully the would be marchers realize that the ANSWEAR just want air time. And yes they will be part of history. They will be forever remebered as the people who tried to kill this great nation of ours.
demonstrations either

only 400 showed up in dc today
Yes, just as at any rally there can be extremists represented (witness Fred Phelps, etc.) we should be carful not to say that anyone who participated in this rally were anti-american just because they disagree with Bush policy or even antiwar. The Bush war in iraq is pushing many away and this rally was too large to ignore. They had 100,000 to 150,000 on Saturday. At our rally today, we could not ven make 1,000.
If what you say is true, where were the American flags? The Haitian and Palestinian flags were visible on CSPAN along with all the anti-<whatever> signs.
a desire that we be defeated? that more american soldiers be killed? that think the terrorist/baathist cause is noble and that our cause is unjust?
are those positions pro-american?
if one thinks such sentiments can be pro american, then the america they love is not the one that exists today, but rather an america they wish to create and which imagined america can more easily emerge from a defeat.
would the new america also behead innocents and blow up women and children intentionally?
just trying to see what "careful" and if there is any thing one can do that is anti american in your book?
For instance, was osama anti american? tojo 's jaopan, benedict arnold? johnwalker linh? jane fonda?
and if not the how do they compare with patton?
and what do you think about that website that posts gory pictures of war dead submitted by our troops?
i do not want to see america defeated.
i want the war/peace to be prosecuted correctly, and right now it isnt.
so either do it correctly, or start forming a withdrawal plan.
He was never pardoned. He died in exile as a traitor and is so remembered. He could very well have considered himself a Knight Templar but that wouldn't make him one.
and surrender, ie withdraw prior to victory allowing al qaida to rule iraq. What you mean is that you don't want us to be defeated if we can win with general hans blix? or...well you tell me. Do you want to nuke the whole place? I think its too soon for that. Correctly? hmmm
peace talks with beheaders? with madam albright?
I wonder how many of the ANSWER types really are Democrats. My bet would be that they're actually Green Party or something even weirder. There's no doubt that those people are insane, and even less doubt that their insanity is Bush's good fortune.
Social justice is a semantic fraud from the same stable as People's Democracy.

Seems ta me dat 'ol internashunal ANSWER izz a rather boring group of intelekjual "idjets" wit a whole bunch of time on their hands. And no one seems ta give a hoot wut dey think about. But dey seem ta unnerstand dis.....sheeeeeeeeee...it.
I wonder what the ANSWER peoples' opinions are on the issue of abortion. It seems to me that in this lalapalozza of leftish causes and platforms, strikingly absent were protesters calling for equal rights for the one class of citizens who remain under official government discrimination and can be murdered at whim without consequences toward the offender; namely, the unborn. I would also like to see them decry Robert Mugabe's and Kim Jong Il's regimes, with all their excesses and barbarities. Or what about Saddam Hussein? He was no communist. They had nothing at stake, no political agenda, other than seeing America fail, there. Thanks to our overthrow of his regime, the Communist Party of Iraq has for the first time in decades the ability to campaign and run for elected office. Don't we get any credit?</rhetorical question>
The hypocrisy of the Far Left knows no bounds.
"...one class of citizens...the unborn..."
Overturn Roe v. Wade. Make abortion a crime. But please do not do so by making the unborn into citizens. If you do, they will have standing in Federal court and you'll have nutjobs acting as "guardians" for fertilized eggs suing for implantation. It will for sure end fertility treatments and break the hearts of thousands of couples in the U.S. There are plenty of solid arguments for prohibiting abortions that don't require giving zygotes these types of rights.
don't know about that, heard much lower estimates. The NY Times again proved that to them there is no extreme left. Answer embodies "progressive political objectives". Yup,and Ho Chi Minh was the George Washington of his country. The real radicals and nuts are in the MSM led by the august NY Times.
...they're a front group for the Worker's World Party, a quasi-Communist organization. On the same hand, I wonder when we'll actually hear a high-ranking Democratic Party official actually denounce the group. Probably never, considering that the Democrats currently need the support of Socialists and Communists in order to try to rebuild their levels of support...
I believe, that by the simple definition of the word Conservative, you can explain why people that have that mind frame would not protest. Also, take into consideration faith based issues and family issues. Most conservatives work all week. On Saturdays and Sundays they want to be with their families.

Bush is lucky the democratic party has gone insane...
