SCOTUS Announcement Update

I do appologize for the brevity of my last entry but its all I had time for. As I said Drudge claimed that he heard "from someone in the know" that Bush MAY "pull the trigger" today on the Sandra Day appointment. My sources are nowhere near as good as Erick's but I have a feeling that it will be Estrada. I have almost zilch to back that up, but that's my gutt feeling.
Comment away.
Logjam broke a few months ago. Maybe you heard something about it?
Hey if you guys think that means that the Republicans can do whatever they want now, have a great time nominating Estrada.
IIRC, he withdrew his nomination while the Dems controlled the Senate. There's about six more Republicans these days, which is probably the more important change (and underlying cause of the one Thomas mentioned).
Plus, the main objection to him was that the Bush Admin wouldn't turn over papers from when he was with the SG, something that seems to be not-a-problem with the overwhelming "yes" vote impending on Roberts.
I just don't think that the Democrats were willing to go to the mattresses on Roberts.
but with only 44 Dems (and probably an independent) there's a lot more room on those mattresses then there was four years ago.
Senate probably will for Estrada.
I hope he is the pick. I'd love to see the dems demonize this man. Let them scream like stuck pigs and rant and rave all they want. It would seal the fate of the dems for a long time to come.
Remember, last time around Estrada was dealing with a fragile wife that couldn't handle such character assassination directed at her husband. Sadly, she is no longer with him. My guess is he would have much more resolve to deal with anything the dems throw at him this go round. And with Roberts setting the bar before him, the dems won't be able to make so much stick this go round.
but those Rovian whisper campaigns have been circling Estrada for awhile.
... how delicious an Estrada nomination would be. Payback for all the months of horsepoop the man had to endure -- basically when nobody was watching. I'd love to see the Democrats put on the exact same show they put on for the circuit court nomination, but this time under the bright lights.
A brilliant jurist and an excellent choice for the court.
Bring. It. On.
Some at confirmthem.com agree too that Estrada is the best pick strategically, and he already has Specter's approval.

Payback is a b*tch.

appointed to a circuit court. How do you think he will get him appointed to the SCOTUS?
