Test of Rove-A-Dope Mind Ray Promising

Several White House insiders that we made up, as if we were Journalists™, tell RedState that initial tests of Karl Rove's newest diabolical invention, the Rove-A-Dope Mind Ray, are going exceedingly well.
Copies of the new model were delivered to NSA "listening" stations in New York, Washington, and Atlanta last week in preparation for Tuesday's upcoming State of the Union address. President Bush, who reportedly told Rove to "make sure those idiots throw every punch they've got at me before I get up there Tuesday night," is said to be delighted. Additional sources that we made up say that Rove promised Bush, "Mr. President, when you finish that speech, the reporters will feel like they've spent the night in a George Foreman grill."
More below...
Within hours of the Rove-A-Dope mind ray being activated, stories began appearing in the media:
- State of the Union? Not so good, most say
- State of Illusion
- Democrat blasts Bush before State of the Union
- Dems attack Bush as State of Union nears
- Bush ratings sink in latest poll
- LA Times Poll: 3 of 5 Say Nation is Seriously Off Course
- Any uptick in Bush's numbers after speech won't last, analysts say
- State of the Union Puts Bush on Collision Course With Himself
Anonymous made-up sources tell RedState that when the President was briefed on the results so far, he told Rove, "Karl, you are a genius."
"An evil genius, if you don't mind, Sir," Rove replied.

...Eva Longoria is stalking Karl, trying to get in his bedroom, then we'll know Karl's perfected the Mind Ray.
Sources at the Uri Geller Tinfiol Hat and Atlantis Real Estate Company tell me that their stock has jumped in after hours trading.
You've gotta read that one. Oh my god!!! (Sorry, didn't mean to take the lord's name in vain).
She's, to put it mildly, quite pessimistic about the state of our union. I think her analysis would be bolstered by a fact or two.
Apparently, part of the solution to the Health Care crisis is more government. It's so obvious, Brownstein doesn't even need evidence!!!
Same thing on the deficit. Uses static scoring and mistates the nature of overspending.
Glad Karl Rove isn't getting political advice from this guy.
Don't let on that the Tin-Foil Hats™ are actually made by Halliburton!!™ Instead of protecting them from Evil Genius Karl Rove™'s mind control ray, they actually send out a signal to the VRWC™ headquarters to let Evil Genius Karl Rove™ know exactly where to focus the machine.
... let's not lose sight of the fact that the majority of Americans still get their "news" from these so-called sources. Assuming that half of the readers/viewers disbelieve, or at least question, the stories, that still leaves an enormous number of people who are subject to this nonsense.
We can joke about it, we can have rational discussions about the truth, but the MSM reaches orders of magnitude more ears and eyes than all the conservative newspapers, TV programs and blogs put together. Regardless of the truth, to the eyes and ears of many, many people the economy is a shambles, the war is lost, our civil liberties are gone, blah, blah, blah. Of course if you ask them individually, each of them is OK but they are concerned about all those other people out there who are out of work; they don't personally know anyone who has been impacted, but are nonetheless concerned about all the wiretaps and the arrests of people speaking out against the 'Bush regime'.
It';s funny but it's no laughing matter.

friday at 5, i thought shaddegg had a real chance and the house could really make some real conservative moves next year.
in 2 hours today, the MSM has me thinking that GW's term is over, recession is around the corner and the gop is going to lose seats all over the place in 06.
and all this is based on nothing but opinion.
no facts of the recent iraq election, the real possiblility of troop withdrawals in the tens of thousands next year, the constant economic recovery of the past 3 years, 2 new strict constructionists in the SC.
yep, the US has gone to hell in a handbasket again.
After they listened to me and granny talking about the west bank, fdic, and bombs (Bradshaw to Swann).
Oh, I got better, and got a new job with health care coverage at USAA. I don't I have to drive that lil red toy car to work anymore.
I'm just saying.
Who's watching FNS right now? A former army guy is hawking his idea for new head/face armor.
It's called the Predator armor system. A well meaning idea, BUT....Is it just me or does it make him look like a green version of an Imperial Stormtrooper?
He claims it doesn't restrict your peripheral vision at all. I don't see how though.
I think that qualifies her as "desperate". ;)
in naming it after his movie Predator.
The alien soldier had body & face armour. Just a thought.
and all this is based on nothing but opinion.
I think it would be more accurate to say "and all this is based on nothing
but opium."
Heh!
...trust me. Opium smokers would be too lazy.
Tweekers perhaps?
This is nothing new...this would have to be what...the fourth or fifth version on this 'act and say things stupid ray' that Karl has deployed.
Ahhhh... all those great hits of the past though...who can forget:
Baghdad Bob (great use by the armed forces)
"Reporting for Duty!"
Any of AlGore's speechs post Jan. 2001
The Saddam Trial (inclusive)
Howard Dean (inclusive)
The memories...
a little horse sense does go a long way.
I'm not disagreeing with you. Just a friendly reminder that the average American Joe is not nearly as obtuse as he is presumed to be.
criticizing the average American. I happen to believe that the people of this country possess an innate good sense unmatched in the world.
But the fact remains that people can only make decisions on the information they have (not the information they wish they had :-). If they are fed a constant stream on rubbish then their decisions are influenced by that, it is inescapable.
And I wasn't implying anything contrary to your intent.
But I can't help but look back over the recent years and come to the realization that we average folks have waded through the b.s. despite those wretched and determined efforts to slant the truth.
it does look a bit like the predator's face plate.
though if i had my druthers, i wouldnt mind predator armor while out in the field.....
... is worth doing for money."
by way of example, as we approach the State of the Union, FNC has a new poll that shows that only 40% of those polled think the country is 'strong and confident' while 55% think it is not.
Despite successful elections in Iraq and the best economy in years people are negative? What possible explanation is there other than the press? The press has been hammering the failure in Iraq, the "lackadaisical" economy, etc.
Now we have an ABC news type injured in Iraq and he on the news every 15 minutes --- the poster boy for failure in Iraq.
The left and their handmaidens in the press have been working consistently for failure and defeat and I interpret the recent attitudes as success for them. As with the tortoise and the hare, slow and steady wins the race.

Nick, I think the Rove-a-Dope Mind Ray was initially developed using Ted Kennedy as a benchmark for final analysis results.
My fictitious sources have reported that the actual proprietary component of the Rove-a-Dope Mind Ray is Ted's DNA.
