RedState's next project: A Capitol Hill Blog

Most of you know that we've engaged a high-end design firm to revamp RedState from top to bottom. We'll also be moving to a new technology platform that will give us a tremendous amount of flexibility and scalability for the future.
But the plan includes more than that.
We'll be launching a series of new "satellite" sites like ConfirmThem and Swannblog to focus on discrete issues.
One of the projects I'm most excited about is a blog written for - and by - Hill staff. Reports from the inside. Dirt about committee markups and the deals that get cut every day.
And here's the pitch: do you work on Capitol Hill? Would you like an outlet? Do you like phrases like "current inflationary adjustment" and "they're not going to whip this vote as a favor to Chairman X"? Send me an email. Yes, you have to identify yourself to the Directors of RedState - but Confidentiality is a required non-negotiable. We'll have a pretty slick process in place to take reports from the Hill and scrub them into a form that protects the writers.
But let's be clear: we're not talking about giving angry hill rats a baseball bat to smack the office next to them because the staff assistant wouldn't go out with them. So if you want to be involved - send me a note.

This is a one-time warning.
Yes, that word counts.
...if that's THE point they want to make, there are about two dozen acceptable ways to alude to it without spelling it out.
That should have read 'oral sex'. My press secretary is about learn how to spell 'downsized'.
You should have shot him the first time, huh?
I certainly don't want to either
a) put these people into a situation where they are doing interesting things just to have something to write about
or
b) getting them to compromise their jobs
or
c) break the law in any way, shape or form
But let's be clear: we're not talking about giving angry hill rats a baseball bat to smack the office next to them because the staff assistant wouldn't go out with them.
It is going to be difficult to get D contributors, no?
Mind you, I am only going by my familiarity with Ds as trolls and Kossites. The professionals may be quite professional. Wait, except for the elected professionals. :)
I can't wait. Places like this are bringing to light a lot of the dark room stuff that goes on, but we could use more.
'He' is a 'she' actually. And she makes omlets to die for. My administration of the facts has become suspect...
I didn't realize you'd been banned twice before.
Sheesh. My bad.
Bad corrected.
Come back once more and we let your ISP know.
Those that know, aren't talking, and those that talk, don't know?
That's how the White House seems to work these days.
Doesn't that apply on the Hill too?
This will bring news on Capitol Hill back again. Thank heavens. I respected the Washington Post 20 years ago when I first moved to the Wash DC area. It didn't take too long to dissuade me of that naive notion.
For the past decade or longer, neither the MSM or even the WaPo have provided discussions of issues before Congress. They simply give political stories about the people and polls, etc. Nothing of substance of what was evolving in Committees of Congress was reported.
If this new blog works, it will prove the MSM has withered away and has been replaced by internet blogging.
I will keep my fingers crossed.
If GOP staffers bring this message and the Dems are allowed, the will come.
Isn't the 'staffer blog' essentially the same as what MyDD recently started trying to do with Breaking Blue? You're not likely to get many Democratic posters, but it'll be good to have a Republican version.

I'd also like to add 'Five years without a blowjob in the White House - now THAT's progress' and 'Borrowing three billion dollars from China and other fabulous models of democracy every working day is GOOD FOR AMERICA'.
We need more blogs!
