Cynthia McKinney slaps an officer of the law

Representative Cynthia McKinney (D-Georgia) has been accused of slugging a Capitol Hill Police Officer.

Sources tell Channel 2 Action News that McKinney was involved in a disagreement with the officer at a security checkpoint at the Capitol.

One of the sources, a member of the House Republican Conference, confirmed that McKinney struck the officer.

The House sergeant-at-arms and a high ranking member of the Capitol Hill Police Department met with McKinney in her office Wednesday afternoon.

She's the congress critter who has been shrieking loudest that "Bush Knew" that Prescott Bush and Halliburton were going to fly planes into the towers, and now she's taking swings at cops.

As Chris Suellentrop noted in Slate several years back:

It's [BushKnew] not the first time McKinney's mouth has gotten her in trouble. In her 10 years in Congress, hardly a year has gone by when she didn't make news for an outlandish accusation or a wild conspiracy theory (ideally, as in this case, a combination of both). During a nasty 1996 congressional campaign with racial tension on both sides, she called supporters of her Republican opponent "holdovers from the Civil War days" and "a ragtag group of neo-Confederates." Never mind that her opponent was Jewish. And during the 2000 presidential campaign, she wrote that "Gore's Negro tolerance level has never been too high. I've never known him to have more than one black person around him at any given time." Never mind that Gore's campaign manager was black.

Assaulting a police officer is a felony is most districts, and felonious behavior is just cause for expulsion. I'm just saying.

Democrats will be outraged and demand an apology.  The young Kennedy punk who attacked a undersized female security officer at an airport will be brought in for martial arts instructions to threatened Dems.  The Times will do a piece on Jack Abramoff.

definition of the term Bitch slapped

Maybe the officer said "God Bless America" or something equally inflammatory.

correct but cynical ;-)

(so take it with that in mind)

Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) punched a U.S. Capitol Police officer today after he mistakenly pursued her for failing to pass through a metal detector, HOTLINE reports... The entire incident is on tape. The cop is pressing charges and the USCP are waiting until Congress adjourns to arrest her, a source claims... Developing...

Are you trying to tell me that I can't take Drudge's rumors to the bank???? I'm shocked, shocked I tells ya!

those you can take to the bank.  It arresting Cynthia in reality that ain't happenin'.

Great rumor.

Living, breathing, walking, ranting proof that one requires neither brains nor good looks nor even a platform to get elected to Congress these days.

In some places, it enough to simply blame Whitey (or, failing that, the Jooooooooooos) for everything and BINGO! - the votes come rolling on in.

Sad, but true.

they did get rid of McKinney for Denise Majette in 2002...but we all know how long that lasted.

"drank the water," as Herman Cain would put it. She went from having been a judge with an esteemed reputation to thinking she could jump to the Senate with dishonest campaign talking points that never would have been allowed in her courtroom.

Take it from this Democrat as a firm opinion that Cynthia McKinney is not only a disgrace to the Party; but to politics (and the human race) in general. I would make a comment about how yesterday wouldn't be soon enough for Ms. McKinney to move on to a more suitable job - but I couldn't think of one offhand (doorstop?). Whatta maroon.

Shine the MoonBat Sign over the Capital.

It's time for the Super Rev's to swing into action.

Rev. Jackson and the Rev. Sharpton.....

Cue the Rap music....

"You know what I mean"...

Your radar must be on high this evening, it took you about 30 seconds to catch that one.

You know, I am the Legal Editor and conservative voice for a DeKalb County paper. McKinney's district is DeKalb, which also includes part of the City of Atlanta and is the 2nd largest county after Fulton that make up the metro area.

I had some dueling editorials with her in 2001-2 and did all I could to get the truth out as she lost her seat, only to win it back after the lady that beat her mysteriously decided not to run again.

she is a disgrace

the voter ID bill might doom her

most of her voters are dead or felons and paid

I'm waiting for McKinney to go medieval on someone from across the aisle.  We really, really need a riot to break out in there one of these days.

With moonbats like her, it just might happen.

to the dem party

can you cite some statements she has made that you deem disgraceful

I would remind everyone that the last time the country was so divided that a southern congressman beat up a senator, we ended up having a civil war. Hopefully we can avoid that this time around.

Though if Roe v. Wade is overturned and the nation is divided into "life states" and "choice states", you never know what could happen. The situation would be eerily similar to the 1850s.

Grab your popcorn and watch the Cynthia McKinney highlight video clips:

DEFENSE: "we need sanctions against Halliburton", we "still don't tell us the whole story about what happened exactly on September 11" (implying Bush/Halliburton conspiracy), Iraq is not being rebuilt - "they have no infrastructure, they have no water, they have no electricity."

DEFENSE: "we darn had to do what we had to do today to take it to the streets, to fight this administration's War Machine", "we already had some of these crazy, stupid votes...targeting Iran..", "when they (Bush/oil companies) finish with the Middle East, then they're gonna go to China and Russia", "it's being waged for a small clique of people who are making a ton of money off of war!"

A member of Congress discouraging kids from enlisting?  Rich and powerful white people conspired to steal the FL 2000 election?  War in the Middle East was not to combat terror, but a scam for corporate profits? Iraq is not being rebuilt? How can a person like this be elected to Congress?  Have the Democrats no shame?

I love Jessie's alliteration....and his cadence cadence is so fine and Rev. Al is just so...so...so.....:)

Now that Johnie Cochran is gone, where will the great lines like "If the Hat does not fit, you must acquit" come from?

or certainly no worse than Dick Durbin or John Murtha.  Quotes with links are available on request.

I'm going to take his word for it and therefore exclude him from the communist cuteness pageant. Most communists call themselves progressives.

If McKinney stole an election that figure would be understandable.  The fact that she was elected so handily says a great deal about the people she represents.  This woman is a racist, an anti-Semite and an inverate anti-American.  But for the gerrymandered 'majority-minority' districts she would have been exiled to the editorial pages of Mother Jones long ago.

of her supporters in DeKalb, esp since she doesnt even bring home the bacon, ie pork. She is part of the ex-civil rights hustler crowd that keeps the race-bating, class envy, entitlement, greivance, victimhood game ginned up.

I am also very suspicious concerning why Majette decided to seek a US Senate seat she had ZERO chance of winning rather than seeking re-election. I wonder if she was made an offer she couldnt refuse. McKinney has many thuggish and jihadist supporters.

pure evil manipulating the ignorant and the complicit

She apparently doesn't wear the pin that identifies her as a criminal, um, congressperson. Further, race has nothing to do with it -- she looks like trouble.

I'm not sure I want the jihadi's best friend in congress to be able to avoid the metal detector, or if I absolutely want her to be able to avoid the metal detector.

Thought it was the glove and the hat...failing Trivial Pursuit again.

Hey...New Game...Liberal Trial Pursuit.

What kind of car did Ted Kennedy drive off the bridge in Chappaquiddick?

From the useless information part of my brain.

Oldsmobile I think.

But hey, it's an open forum kind of posting/topic.

I almost said Oldsmobile, but I remember seeing the pictures of the car in the water, and it looked  more like a high-end product.

certainly:

"We know there were numerous warnings of the events to come on September 11th. . . . What did this administration know and when did it know it, about the events of September 11th? Who else knew, and why did they not warn the innocent people of New York who were needlessly murdered? . . . What do they have to hide?"

Cynthia McKinney

Think about what this statement explicitly says and what it implies. The question, what did this administration know followed by who else knew, she is clearly implying that the Bush Administration knew of and condoned 911.

Disgraceful enough?

I can only conclude that you are a conservative republican. I am too, live in Atlanta, write for a newspaper here when Im not practicing law, have a very thick file of outragisms n McKinny and have written editorials against her.

My purpose in my question was to get the self identified democrat to actually direct me to specific statements of mckinney that the democrat deemed over the line rather than letting the dem get away with a vague statement

for 2 reasons

1 - it is rare to have a democrat denounce another dems statement as substantively outrageous, as

They usually say that while they wouldnt have said so and so, but that their dem friend have free speech.

They almost never denounce another dem.

2 - While I dont expect this visiting dem to comply with my request, what I want to do if the dem does, is compare the outrageous statements the dem identifies to other dem elected officials statements and get them to tell me WHY the statemenst are outrageous to them and see if they can distinquish them from the plethora of dem outrageous statensnts since 911.

There is a method to gamecock madness!

What Dems do you think are representative of mainstream Dem thought?

catagory as CM of having made generally similar outrageous statements is shorter than those that are. Many that hadnt,  joined the club during the Bush mute months of rope a dope in late 2004.

that she drank the Kool-Aid.  But at the time, she was pretty darned reasonable compared to the opposition.

were up to something.  I knew from your prior statements you were definitely not a McKinney supporter!!  I just couldn't resist answering...too easy.  I actually teach High School students who live in Ms. McKinney's district, (obviously DeKalb County) although I live in Henry County (thank god).

Schumer, and on and on ad nauseum.

and other Dems not much different, what does that say about the people voting for them?

That seems to be the way it's headed.  If you get a handful of these Congresspeople and Senators going further and further out to the extreme in their demagoguery, at some point someone's has to take it literally.  It might not even be the Roe decision that does it; it could well be a case of Blue State versus Red State with an act of terrorism from a third party being the trigger event.

anybody home?  You remember, the committee that fined and censured Newt Gingrich for not consulting a lawyer, the committee that hounded Tom Delay while refusing to give him a hearing and left the rest of the dirty work to Ronnie Earle, old "toss away the key" Ronnie.  Yeah, that committee.

"No, Ma'am I don't, but that tin foil hat you're wearing set off the metal detector from 50 feet away...can anyone here tell this woman who she is?"

Of course we know the Dem's would be demanding jail time. And when presented w/an opportunity like this we (the right) should do everything we can to push this prosecution and get max punishment. But do you think our representitives up there will? No they don't have the "will". We have a bunch of shrinking violets up there. I'd like to see this woman do 30 days in the slammer. I will shoot an email to my congressman today.  I want to see this thing pursued to the max.

She was tied to a chair by Mckinney, Inc. and it was forced down her throat through a funnel.  Majette is no paragon of intelligence or virtue, and she was easily "persuaded" to make a quixotic run for the Senate because it was the only graceful way to get out of Cynthia's path back to the House.  It's a family affair.

...shoving and grabbing of ties by a frustrated Dem rep back in '94.

National Lampoon had to run a retraction for their Teddy and VW comment:

"If Ted Kennedy had driven a Volkswagon, he might be president today"

I am amazed that after she lost her house seat that she didn't find her way to a mental facility.  She along with Rep Moran (D) VA are an embarrassment to the Dem's, the House and the Country.  Boxer isn't far behind though.

kids?  They would stop opposing the death penatly long enough to advocate it for Delay.

nuts but not to the level of McKinney and Moran.  Those two say and do somethings even Durbin objects to.

Even nuttier than either Durbin or Murtha is Rep. Barbara Lee from Ca (she took the seat after Ron Dellums (super nut) retired), she voted against the war in Afghanistan, the only one in congress.  Also above Durbin and Murtha is Baghdad Jim McDermott from WA.  Conyers from MI too.

As I type this, I realize how very large the nutty element of the democratic party is.  R's certainly have some, Pat Robertson should be quiet and a few others.  But the elected number of nuts for the D's is really shocking.  That's why people in all red states should remember that a vote for a moderate or conservative democrat is still a vote for Pelosi for speaker, Conyers to chair the impeachment committee, Leahy to lead the Judiciary committee, Kennedy, Durbin, etc.  Nelson from NE isn't a bad guy but he still would put nuts in power.

Offline oblligtions were calling.

In a nutshell: my negative opinions about Cynthia McKinney stem from a few basic positions of hers, which personally push my "wrong" buttons:

   - Looney-tunes 9/11 "conspiracy" nonsense.

   - Support for Robert Mugabe

   - Over-friendliness towards Luois Farrakhan

and most importantly:

   - A pervasive aura of visceral anti-Israelism

and general antisemitism that has pervaded most of her political career, and which she has done little to counter in any overt statement which I have been able to find. Admittedly, she is not an overt Jew-baiter like her father (?and political mentor?) Billy McKinney: but the apple (or nut) hasn't fallen far from the tree, it seems.

and get to me real point given your self ID as a democrat. I was dem for 20 years, 5 of which I served as a SC county chair. I converted top the GOP after my conservative epiphany in June 2001 soon after I moved to Atlanta, although my disaffection with the party had grown slowly over time.

I know McKinney and her Dad very well as I write a column for a DeKalb County newspaper in her district.

see this link before reading further and you will see the purpose for which I requested that you, a dem, specifically declare what you, a dem, considers outrageous.

http://www.redstate.com/comments/2006/3/29/16589/3106/39#39

I must say that I am pleased that you surprised me and that I find your reasons a bit more distinguishing than I expected

BUT, only a bit, without more info.

While I do think that some of her statements are more outrageous than most any other dem elected official, I would contend that they are so, only as to degree, not kind. Moreover, while some of the McKinney statements were denounced by dems on the rare occasion that an msm reporter actually asked other dems to do so,

most often, fellow dems merely said that they wouldnt have said it and left it at that.

The dems silence speaks volumes. Moreover, hardly any dems have unequivocaly denounced the below outrages, some of which are standard fare. They want the ideas expressed to linger and hurt a CIC while America is at war.

The whole Bushlied mantra that was the basis of kerry's campaign; the Swimmer's allegation that the war was concocted in Texas for political purposes; Murtha's statement that he FEARS that a  pullout on Bush's terms would be perceived as an american victory

repeat

Murtha's statement that he FEARS that a  pullout on Bush's terms would be perceived as an american victory

That outrageous statement is as bad as McKinney.

The examples are legion.

Moreover, one never

NEVER

sees an elected dem show any righteous, raw anger at the enemy

rather, they reserve their anger for Bush

and send a clear comforting and emboldening message to the enemy that if they will just hold on, they will give them the victory that UBL, Zarqawi and saddam's former regime members covet

just like they did in somalia and vietnam.

The dem party is outrageous.

To your points:

1 - you must agree that bushlied is a loony conspiracy theory

2 - many other dems have and do support Mugabe

3 - most all dems are overly friendly to Farrakhan

TO NOT UNEQUIVOCALLY DENOUNCE AND REFUSE TO APPEAR WITH HIM IS OVERLY FRIENDLY.

You will search in vain for an elected dem unequivocally denouncing Farrakhan. Hillary and many, many dem leaders have appeared at forums with him.

The dem party is a disgrace

outrageous

agree?

But I'm not going to bite.

(Should have guessed the SC connection from your handle ;) )

It's just too much of a stretch of logic (or even rhetoric) for me accept the proposition that "Cynthia McKinney is outrageous" necessarily correlates to "All Democrats are outrageous". Partisan identification aside, I make my own judgements as to political issues, and try to avoid overbroad generalizations or stereotypes - even about Republicans. ;)

AFAIC,  playing "duelling denunciations" is a fruitless game: Democrats and Republicans are the two major parties in a two-party system in a nation of 300 million people - if either one can't generate a few cranks on their fringes, then it doesn't say much for our country's diversity.

   Oh, and regarding your/my "points":

  1. "Bushlied" (is that a type of German folksong?) - just my opinion, but as relates to 9/11: sheerest non-credible crackpottery: as relates to Iraq: well, maybe not a "lie" per se, but close enough for government work. That the Bush Adminstration was predetermined on an invasion/occupation of Iraq, regardless of circumstances, or what intelligence showed, should not, anymore, be dismissed as crankery, given recent revelations.
  2. Dem "support" for Mugabe? Seriously, gamecock: any cites or links? Zimbabwean affairs (unfortunately) are wildly under-the-radar in this country: I would like know what Democrat (or anybody else) has officially expessed "support" for Mugabe's squalid dictatorship (so I can go denouce them!)

Headlines that inform us that Zimbabwe is coming apart.  Some would have us believe that we become heated over Zimbabwe because of the country's human rights abuse, democracy well over the line toward autocracy, rampant corruption, and black racism.  But ultimately, the question is the land.  Zimbabwe has embarked upon a long-promised and well-overdue land reform.

But President Mugabe has known full well that the question of Zimbabwean independence, even at its dawn, was hinged on the question of the ownership of the land.  For the question remains unanswered by those who claim title to the land of how they actually got that land.  And if they are not willing to answer that question, then how can their title to the land be legally valid?

But that is not just a Zimbabwe issue.  That is an African issue.  For Africa was not a barren land devoid of people.  Africa was for Africans until the Europeans came along.  And then Africa became theirs and basically remains theirs to this day.~Former Congresswoman McKinney (D-GA) delivered this speech on June 21 at First African Presbyterian Church, Lithonia, Georgia.

BBK:

I was really looking for some cites other than Cynthia McKinney: though this will do nicely, to illustrate her particularly purblind thought-processes (using that term broadly); but I am still unaware that "Dem support for Mugabe", as claimed by gamecock, is any kind of widespread attitude among party members, or the leadership, as a whole.

Of course, I would be willing to guess that only a small fraction of the populace, Democrat or Republican, in Washington or elsewhere has any idea who Robert Mugabe is. More's the pity.

have denounced Farrakhan.

Your "maybe not a Bushlied per se" Iraq War conspiracy theory proves my point. You are in the right party.

I don't think his statement was that "all Democrats are outrageous."

In fact, I know several who aren't.

I think the point was that the Party is outrageous.  This is harder to deny and quite easy to show.  Thus his remarks about the Coward Murtha and the Clinton.

did make me jump the gun, my apologies.

I will say however that inviting Farrakhan to give a speech like this to the CBC and then not denouncing him is giving a tacit approval to Mugabe.  I know many voted for the ZDB, but they still pander to this radical racist (who classifies Mugabe thugs as freedom fighters!) and his supporters.

This is analogous to the RPC voicing approval for affirmative action and then inviting a Grand Wizard of the KKK to speak to them.
