PA: Tom Ridge campaigns with Lynn Swann

Today is the day Lynn Swann's bid to become the next governor of Pennsylvania gets a boost from popular former Governor Tom Ridge, the man who went on to become the nation's first Secretary of Homeland Security. Today, they hit Philadelphia, New Cumberland, Scranton, Pittsburgh, and Erie.
We're looking at money and we're looking at candidacy credibility, the first of which the campaign needs and the latter of which begets the former.

Chris Borick, a political science professor at Muhlenberg College interviewed by the Harrisburg Patriot-News (linked above) tells us that having Governor Ridge on the stump will help Swann "shore up, or help shore up, party unity behind the Swann campaign." The ubiquitous Terry Madonna of Franklin & Marshall said that the Ridge visit will create a bandwagon effect for the campaign.

Another example of Swann's inexperience biting him in the butt.
Still, it's huge to have Ridge on your side.
Swann's fans is that he has been merely attempting to lull the Dems into a false sense of security because they think he can't get his feet out of his mouth and that this summer Swann should kick it into high gear and come out fighting hard...
Couldn't you make the same claim about any candidate that keeps slipping up again and again?
But, like I said, this is the word from his fans.
I'm trying not to hold my breath waiting for him to get off his backside and start Campaigning. But I figure his campaign will probably end up more like the Steeler's most recent Super Bowl victory.

1210 AM in Philly had been pumping up a call in with Swann for the last week but he no showed them. This station is one of the biggest in the market and has a real conservative following in the eastern PA listening area. The host was not feeling the candidates excuse of dropping the kids off at school and thats why he missed the interview to be valid reason for not getting to the phone this morning. Lynn if you read this DONT DO THAT AGAIN!
