Might I instead plug a rundown of the day's action in the Colorado gubernatorial race?

...a predator, a dog, a terrier maybe, to complete the food chain--circle of life you know. :-)

Not only outside in the hot FL sun, but on Katherine Harris as well.

...this is not a site for drive-by posts designed to drum up traffic for Democratic campaign sites.  Particularly ones for folks babbling about SDI.  I somehow doubt that's going to topple Dave Weldon.

Now, if you could find somebody running for Congress on the topic of Ptolemaic astronomy, that'd be something to see.

Moe

You can have your cupcake and eat it too.

.

It's a quote from "V", but it seems to be what the rodent is thinking.

What I find alarming is the sniggering in the background.

Stones deny Keith Richards suffered brain damage...

I mean get real, trying to damage that man's brain is kind of like beating a dead horse!

Some states like Michigan are easy to hurt by migration away from bad economics, but California is never going to be in any real danger.

Our weather is too good, Multiculturalism aside we really do have a wide range of cultures here, and yet there's plenty of open space left to buy a house and play in a park.

Nevada is either too hot or too cold, Arizona is too hot, and Oregon is both rainy and socialist.   And Tennesee?  For a move within the US, that has to be a pretty radical change.

I'd look more for businesses to flee than individuals, and that's already been happening (just search the Internet for "runaway production" to see the fruits of their donations hit Hollywood liberals where it hurts).

A big year for E3.  If any of you are there, I envy you.  I think we will see an intersting shift in the gaming market this year.  The PS3 will debut at $499 to $599.  That is pretty hefty for a console.  Although more powerful than the XBOX 360, it's $100 to $200 more.  They will need some awesome games to overcome the gap in price and great games like Oblivion and the upcoming Halo 3.

Also, Nintendo announced a new console that will not be high-def graphics.  But at $249, It may be interesting to see what games they can come up with as well.  A new Mariocart would be all it would take to convince me.

Isn't it Ionic? Air Purifiers Make Smog

Here's how to create your own personal Stage 2 Smog Alert: Buy an indoor air purifier.

Using a popular process called ionization, the air cleaners can actually generate ozone levels in a room that exceed the worst smog days in Los Angeles, a new study finds.

The devices are popular in urban areas. They are touted as getting rid of dust, pollen and other airborne particles.

Ionic air purifiers, one type of these devices, are said to work by charging airborne particles and then attracting them to metal electrodes. They emit ozone as a byproduct of this ionization process.

In a small and poorly ventilated room, the ozone adds to existing ozone and creates potentially unhealthy concentrations.

"People operating air purifiers indoors are more prone to being exposed to ozone levels in excess of public health standards," said study leader Sergey Nizkorodov, a chemistry professor the University of California, Irvine.

I suppose we have to be careful how we try fixing things?

To do what Nintendo has historically done best:

Stick with few consoles and just pour out the best games they can and as many of them as they can.

Otherwise, they're going to go the way of Sega...

Nintendo just cannot keep up with this Console war.

On the other hand, despite their graphics and no matter how good the games, if Sony's and XBox's prices keep going up, people will stop buying.

You can get a full out computer for the projected price of the PS3 that will play everything XBox360 or PS3 will be able to...

That's why I think Nintendo has an interesting approach here going with the lower-end console.  I haven't had a Nintendo console since the N64.  But I would put Mariocart in my top ten games of all time.

As far as prices go, Sony and MS have quite a bit of room before they hit PC costs.  Some of the new graphics cards required to run these games cost more than the consoles do right now.  But they may be pricing themselves out of reach for many gamers.  Which is why I like the thought behind Nintendo's move.

Someone will be telling Keith Richards: "Die, die, why wont you die?!?!?!"

Heh by Finrod

So this would be why the newest model of the Ionic Breeze now comes with an 'ozone guard'.

What are your top ten PC or Console games of all time?

Mine:

1.  Command & Conquer Series (PC)

Tiberian Sun was a lowpoint for the series, but I really enjoy the rest from the originals up to Generals.  My biggest complaint is predictable AI.

2.  007 Series (all console platforms since N64)

Starting with I believe Goldeneye for the N64, the 007 games have been great.  The multiplayer mode was really brought the arena deathmatch and capture the flag to consoles.  The missions and weapons were always enjoyable as well.  My only complaint is that they have done so many of them without drastically changing them.

3.  Final Fantasy Series (PSI & PSII)

I'm just a sucker for Final Fantasy games.  Some of the minigames withing them are pretty inventive and fun.  And with more freedom of movement being added with each game, I think they are getting better.  The only complaint would be that they tend to have lengthy cut scenes and sometime too lengthy of a plot.

4.  Elder Scrolls Series (PC/XBOX)

These games are what I have been looking for.  First person battles in an extremely open ended RPG.  Plus you don't have to worry about subscription fees, connections, and other hang ups of massively multiplayer RPGs.  Oblivion, the newest installment, looks great from start to finish.  My biggest complaint would be the hack and slash combat, but that has improved each release.

5.  Halo Series (PC/XBOX)

For FPS, this game has it all.  Interesting weapons, great graphics, and an interesting plot.  16 player vs. matches are loads of fun.

6. Star Wars Battlefront (PC/XBOX/PS)

I love Star Wars.  These games finally bring all the action of all the movies into one package.  You just can't beat multi-player dogfighting with a Tie Interceptor.  The only complaint would be that the battlegrounds need to be a bit more expansive.

7.  Star Wars KOTOR (PC/XBOX/PS)

Once again, being a SW geek, Knights of the old republic provides me with basically more SW movies and plotlines that I can live rather than just watch.  The only complaint is that it takes too long to get your lightsaber.

8.  Mariocart (Nintendo)

The best racing game ever.  Biggest complaint is that there isn't newer versions of it.

9.  MVP Baseball

Not much to say here, If you like baseball games, it's an awesome game.  Especially now that team management now mean managing and trading players down at the minor leagues as well. (NHL, FIFA, and Madden games are also comparable)

10. Ace Combat

I like the dogfighting games, and Ace combat has a wide selection of fighter and bombers.  My biggest complaint is that having to take out air targets and ground targets at the same time without the proper type of fighter.

I guess that's my list and proof I play too many video games.

..go to town!    whatch out Ron Popeil! ;0)

Taking on global warming and free market capitalism in one fail swoop...

Moe, the reason I posted the info about Dr Robert Bowman has nothing to do with "drumming up traffic for Democratic campaign sites". People should hear what he has to say about 9/11. That is why I posted it.

Here's the MP3 interview again and I encourage all people to listen to it. It has to do with 9/11 and is important.

http://www.radio4all.net/proginfo.php?id=18037

----------------------------------

Do you consider Dr Paul Craig Roberts (father of Reaganomics) a respectable figure? Please listen to this MP3 interview of him discussing 9/11, as well as Iraq and Iran.

He makes some very startling comments about the World Trade Center.

Please listen to it. The mp3 is about 60MB. It's a long interview... the 9/11 segment starts at 36:36 into the mp3

http://www.electricpolitics.com/media/mp3/EP2006.02.07.mp3

This has absolutely nothing to do with political gain. It has to do with 9/11. At least take the time to listen to the mp3s before dismissing it.

The info on Bowman, in case anyone missed it before:

  1. coined the term "Star Wars"

  2. was Head of Star Wars in the Ford and Carter administrations

  3. is a retired USAF Lt Col with 101 combat missions in Vietnam

  4. is a former Interceptor Fighter Pilot and knows all the NORAD drills

  5. has a PhD in Aeronautics and Nuclear Engineering

  6. is currently running for Congress

Everyone knew Kathleen Brown was going to unseat Gov. Wilson too.  But then he latched onto a little anti-illegal immigration initiative...

and Oblivion is superb. My most recent save game reported about 110 hours of game play. And I'm proving that you can survive on four hours of sleep per night.

Al Qaeda in Iraq, in its own judgement, is in a shambles. Translation of their own words provided here.

A lot of us have grown up with video games, and have forgotten that we started as kids.  Nintendo hasn't.

My guess is there are a lot of parents out there who will buy a $100 system for their kids, but not a $500 one, especially when the Hollywood games are so expensive on top of that these days.

I'm cheering them on the whole way.

alert and attentive, not so much.  Been going through the same thing.  Just don't get tired of closing those gates.

Keith Richards is deader than Brian Jones, it's all the booze and residual heroin that keeps him erect.  In fact, if we could dig him up, Keith probably LOOKS deader than Brian Jones.
