soldiers being used as political footballs anymore than you do.  but I don't really find this offensive. for me, the reality is that my wife may have to kill, or be killed, serving our country, as many already have.  

what I find most offensive in the ad is the fear-mongering that has now become a staple of our political discourse. but a picture of flag-draped coffins? crass, perhaps. but I am not stirred to a fit of righteous indignation.

So no, I'm not surprised. To me, the equivalent approach -- not on its merits, but approach -- targeted at Republican, social conservative contributors would be an ad featuring photos of drag-queen nuns burning flags. Which wouldn't surprise me either.

that the party which always divides the nation by race and class, that is always on the attack, that has lied about their opponents for years, that never miss a chance for cheap rhetorical name calling would stoop so low?
