A friend sent along the attached flier he found in Philadelphia (click on it for a full sized view). The Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware District of the Communist Party, USA, is unhappy with Rick Santorum. This, my friends, is just another in the long list of reasons to support Santorum's re-election.

Also, we should note that the Communists, who are no doubt friends of the campaign finance reform movement (read Animal Farm if you disagree), appear to be violating campaign finance laws. They need a proper disclaimer -- you know, "Paid for and authorized by the Commies." Or is this piece authorized by more than just the Commies? Don't forget to notice the union logo also on the piece. It's down there at the bottom.

Just remember kids, a vote against Rick Santorum "would protect the air we breathe." I'm not sure how, but the Commies are sure of it. So, vote against Rick Santorum for the children -- the ones you want to abort.

Where would we be without the Green Party? Gore in 2000! That's where. I love the Green Party.

will be forgiven in the New Order... comrade.

public service disclaimer.  Hey, when did medical leave become a family value?  By this logic, they should have added:

He opposes gay marriage.  A vote against Santorum is a vote for family values!

A typical campaign ploy by a candidate behind in the polls is to pass fake information to smear the candidate in front.  It's been seen many times before.  Unfortunately, it's recently been a favored trick of Republicans.  Remember South Carolina when McCain was running against Bush in the 2000 primary?  McCain opponents (i.e., Bush supporters) used "push polling" to suggest that McCain's Bangladeshi born adopted daughter was his own, illegitimate black child.  I'm not saying that that similar tactics are being used in Pennsylvania but I wouldn't be surprised in the least if it were true.

You've brought a whole bouquet of pointy sticks haven't you?

Your comparison doesn't work because it's backward.  If the Greenies gave a list of reasons to support Sen. Santorum, it'd work.

But here it just looks like you're grasping for the nearest glob of mud to fling, since you don't really have anything on topic to say.

Why would Communists ask people to vote for a Democrat (a right-wing fascist in their eyes) rather than their own Communist candidate?  It makes no sense.

They did not ask anyone to vote Democrat -- just against Santorum.

The Communist Party is so stigmatized in America that any attack would read as an endorsement, so he presumes they'd remain quiet. However, some of those items are (meant to be) reasonable-sounding, so I doubt it's a "Fake transvestites chanting gay marriage for Kerry"-type push polling thing.

It's also poorly formatted, so I don't know which way that points.

1 minute later Verizon business directory finds me the Communist Party as existing in that location, so unless it's a particularly well-thought-out ruse, I say it's real.

"Fake transvestites chanting gay marriage for Kerry"-

HEY! Did you get that phone call too? I thought it was real!

. . . when we're invoking CPUSA in 2006, there's not much of a topic to begin with.

In 2004, the Hoeffel campaign never pushed getting the Constitution Party folks on the ballot against Specter, even though it would have helped for the same reason.  Odd that Santorum's complete overt about it now.

Without Nader's heroic efforts, we most likely would have had a (shudder) Gore Presidency, an event even more catastrophic to America than the Carter Presidency.  Imagine Gore conducting the War on Terror.  Imagine Gore appointing replacements for two USSC justices.  Imagine a Kyoto Treaty on steroids....

Nothing is better for America than a Green Party on the ballot to split the whackjob fringe vote.

There is even a saying among some conservatives, "Naderthank" in appreciation of Ralph's inadvertent role in saving the country from Gore.

There is no corresponding group on the Republican side. The Constitution Party doesn't consist of either disaffected Republicans or disaffected conservatives. The Green Party on the other hand does contain people who have left the Democratic party for not being collectivist enough.

will do anything to continue to advance their agenda.  The Dem Party has been the party most willing to do their bidding as I addressed in a diary entrylast month.

The Constitution Party placed above 10% in two straight PA-GOV races in the 1990s when matched against two pro-choicers.  They've had significant support here from conservatives fed up with pro-choice Republicans.

This story tells it all on how desperate the soon to be ex-Republican Senator from Pennsylvania really is. http://www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/news/local/15160670.htm
