Man but do I love romantic comedies...err, I mean, Democrat politics and conundrums. Apparently, the Democrats are getting their undies all in a bundle over a close primary race.

[hand raised from the back row of the cheap seats]Wasn't it the Republicans that were doomed to middle earth because of a looming brokered convention?

Heh...I love bloodsport...

Democrats in Michigan and Florida struggled Friday to resolve the impasse over their disputed January primaries, coming up with a plan to hold a June primary in Michigan while remaining deadlocked in Florida.

Reflecting how tense the situation has become, influential fund-raisers for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton have stepped up their behind-the-scenes pressure on national party leaders to resolve the matter, with some even threatening to withhold their donations to the Democratic National Committee unless it seats the delegates from the two states or holds new primaries there.

The committee penalized Michigan and Florida for holding their primaries early in violation of national party rules, barring their delegates from being seated at the Democratic convention this summer. But with the Democratic contest now a scramble for every remaining delegate, the allocation of delegates from the two states could have a substantial impact on the nomination.

Mrs. Clinton won the primaries in both states, but the contests were not sanctioned by the party, neither candidate campaigned in the states and Mr. Obama did not even put his name on the ballot in Michigan.

Pushing to seat the Florida delegates, at least one top Clinton fund-raiser, Paul Cejas, a Miami businessman who has given the Democratic National Committee $63,500 since 2003, has demanded Democratic officials return his 2007 contribution of $28,500, which they have agreed to do.

"If you’re not going to count my vote, I’m not going to give you my money," said Mr. Cejas, who was the United States ambassador to Belgium from 1998 to 2001.

How'd that work out in Flo...oh, never mind.

From this little perch o' mine, I'd say the DNC has fairly well horked things up for the poor and downtrodden just fine, all by themselves...no need for eeeeevil Republicans to get in the way is there?

Howard Dean is as much the chimp NOW as he ever might have been when he was screaming his way into obscurity. Have at it Howie-no one disenfranchises the disenfranchised like a Democrat.

Posted at 5:27pm on Jan. 7, 2008 Bob Schrum: Hillary Is A Loser

By streiff

If anyone can recognize a loser it is Bob Schrum. So we need to pay attention when he says Hillary is one.

The Clinton industry, encrusted with the beneficiaries and acolytes of the first and probably only Clinton presidency, has turned Hillary into a product whose sell-by date has passed. In a year of change, she has been positioned as the establishment candidate. The relentless appeal to "experience" reinforces that - and too often elides into a dubious attempt to take credit for some of Bill's accomplishments.

I'm sorry that there was no YouTube video available. No, I didn't write this.

Mii mii mii mii...

Oh, I took my car / down to the station
And asked the guy / to fix what's wrong;
He worked all day / down at the station
And gave me a bill / that was five miles long.

Well, the very next day
The car refused to start
And when I pushed it down the hill
It steered all wrong;
I asked the guy / why he didn't fix it:
He smiled, and sang this song:

"It's not our fault / We have no liability
We told you that / before we began:
It's not our fault / We take no responsibility
For we had no idea / what would be, in the end."

Don't that just roll off your tongue? Man I wish I hadn't failed French 3 times in Public school...I might actually be able to say that right! I never COULD figure out how to roll my 'Rs', but it sounds so cool.

What's that? What does it mean? Oh, right-sorry 'bout that:

Revenge is a dish best served cold...

...or something to that effect.

This phrase, while not known to have been actually FOUND in Pierre Ambroise François Choderlos de Laclos' original work (Dangerous Liaisons), has been attributed to him all the same and fits quite well here given where I'm headed with this piece.

I can think of no better example of "dangerous liaisons" than that which firmly affixes the Democrats' lips to the collective derriere's of America's kook fringe Liberal anti-war wingnut family who paid so much money to elect them only to see their hard earned money squandered into the abyss of incompetence and abjectly miserable failure. Am I laughing? You bet their booty I am...I guarandamnteeya.

Sorry, I'm supposed to be serious here.

Pilgrim recently brought us a truly pathetic time line, derived from a Noemie Emery piece over at the Weekly Standard, which laid out the words and deeds of the Democrats since taking power over the House and Senate last year. It's fairly clear from this data that Democrats have either absolved themselves of any responsibilities for giving their constituents and special-interest investors what they paid for, or they never believed they would be held accountable or beholden to those checkbooks once they were sworn in. Either way, the guinea hens have come home to roost and the droppings are starting to pile up under that cedar tree.

More below the fold...
