I just feel the need, as a Romney supporter, to remind people that Hugh Hewitt does not, in fact, speak for the Romney campaign, is not on the Romney campaign staff, and Mitt Romney is not to be held accountable for Hugh's behavior. I know that sometimes it's hard, but it's important to evaluate the candidate based on who the candidate is, not based on the behavior of his supporters. I got a lot of material from the campaign itself both before and after the speech, and none of it was half as over-the-top as either of Hugh's post on the matter. Get that? The actual campaign material was a lot more sane. So like I said: don't hold them accountable.
