The famed economist has attracted a lot of attention by claiming that the reconstruction effort in Iraq is responsible for a whole host of the nation's fiscal and economic woes. And a whole host of his own fellow economists--and other social scientists and commentators--beg to differ.
One wonders whether the dissents will attract any attention. They should; a number of them have been issued by people who have no particular ideological ax to grind with Stiglitz. They just take profound exception to his claims and they have the facts to back up their positions.
